Solid post.
The low FBIQ there is staggering. They all blame Pinkel? At least he's bringing in talent! He goes to bowl games and he at least has three non-losing seasons in Big XII.
Pinkel
(6 yrs: 3, 2, 4, 3, 4, 4)
Mangino
(5 yrs: 0, 3, 2, 3, 3)
considering the talent they started with, I'd say that Pinkel and Mangino are comparable, but at some point Mangino has to get them back to a bowl game and get to at least 4 conference wins. Also, Mizzou isn't dropping non-con games they should win. They had 8 wins last year. If you don't like playing Toledo on the road etc. Kansas, then play someone worse and beat them at home! Mizzou's 8 wins last year included a non-con SEC (a horrible Ole Miss) and a road game vs. New Mexico.
Also: the South rotations ku got the 3rd place south team (5-3, 9-4 A&M) and the 5th place South team (3-5, 6-6 +1 bowl win Okie State) at home and the 6th place South team (Baylor 3-5, 4-8). I'm not saying that Baylor was some pushover, K-State lost in Waco too, but ku lost all three. K-State found a way to beat Okie State and Texas at home to make up for the Baylor loss, ku couldn't.
Meanwhile. . . Mizzou got the 4th place South team (4-4/8-5 Tech) and the third place South team (5-3, 9-4 A&M) ON THE ROAD and Oklahoma (7-1, 11-3 Big XII Champs) at home. So anyone saying Pinkel is worse than Mangino must place an enormous amount of stock in the fact that the ku program was positively devastated and that winning at ku was practically impossible. Nevermind the fact that ku was one coach removed from Glen Mason. Mangino is Wooly. The comparison is so apt. Mason=Altman, unreasonably driven off then Asbury=Allen and Mangino=Wooly. Who is the comparison's Huggy? Gary Barnett? Mike Price? Barry Switzer? Larry Coker?
