    shame on you, non-believers
I'm not gonna lie; I didn't know jack about Huggins before the search began. Once his name started popping up all over the place during the search, I asked Rusty (I think?) about him, did a little research, and was on board from then on out.

I think the article the next day with the list of candidates had Huggins for the photo.  He's really preaching the choir there b/c all those folks are already paying anyway.

Well, Huggins was the only coach on that list anyone had heard of...plus, he sells subscriptions.

I remember you thought Huggs was a "city guy".  :)

I am/was dumb.  You did a great job selling/explaining/informing Huggins to the doubters.

No doubt Fitz has done well over the last year or so with the Prince/Huggins hires.  The Wabash shows it, more bad than good often times.

Rusty, was it you I asked about Huggs? I don't remember. I just remember not knowing anything about him other than he was the UC coach before. I was one of the few K-State fans who remained relatively neutral on the topic in the beginning.

I was probably slightly bitter about Nick Williams and even Ivan Johnson and I had bought into the media driven stereotypes.  I was pretty much a Hugg's hater until I was set straight.  I ain't afraid to admit it. :)

    Fear the Brick
The only thing I don't get about the second myth, is why ADTW and Fogler (in any interview they've given) basically state that Fogler turned ADTW on to the idea and then from that point, once ADTW found out more about Huggins, he was dead seet on getting Huggins.  It's kind of neither here nor there, but just strikes me odd.

Even if that **IS** true, why does Weiser get any less credit? Listen, if Prince flops I will have no problem saying it's 100% Weisers fault.

Look at all these other fan bases/Ad's across the country. They all think Huggins is a thug and would never touch him. It's hilarious and shows just how lucky we are Weiser saw through all the propaganda that got Huggs fired at UCINN.

Weiser should get credit for any hire.  But when Fitz begins to talk about exactly how it came about, it should be atleast consistent with what Weiser and Fogler said themselves.

I always wanted Huggins, but thought there was no way a bunch of people that got all upset about Marcus Raines would ever hire Huggins (not that Huggins has killed anyone yet, but it's the same sanctimonious BS crowd).  I was glad KSU had the sack to hire Huggins.

I used Raines in my Huggins arguments all the time on gp.com.  WichitaCat and YoureMyBoyBuhl hated me for it.

bad thread for mjr.'s cred.

i not only wanted huggins from the outset, i thought he should hire a coach who had a near lifetime ban placed on him by the ncaa as his first asst.  too bad weiser didn't let him.

I'll trade the multiple Big Monday appearances on ESPN we would get just from Huggins being on our sideline for "baggage reflection".

Tech is guaranteed Big Monday every year that Bobby stays there.  One ku game a year is probably also guaranteed.  Probably one more, as well...Texas, OSU, or OU.  That's 3 more Big Monday games than we got this year.

So we didn't get the "probably one more" this year.  My bad.  Both Big Monday games were at home and we got OU on ABC.

I'm a Stew fan, but will be elated if Young beats him out at PG or Pullen/Brown beats him out.  I would love to have a more athletic slasher at the position, but those guys have to prove they can be "trusted" by Huggs and I still think we can win with Stew at the PG spot.  If Young continues to play like he did vs Tech and the 2nd half of the Vermont game he'll have a shot to at least equal Stew in minutes this year.

Regardless, I still think Stew will still play 20+ minutes per game, and I think he'll be a 45% 3 PT shooter and average 8-10 PPG and around 3 APG next season.  Great SR role player to have at worst, sort of like the role Nick Williams had for Huggs at Cinci.

I'm going to have to call a "no effing way" on the 45% 3 point shooting.  That would be good for 5th all-time, and better than three of Steve Henson's seasons.

45% might be a bit high.  I think he at least equals his Big 12 % this year (over 41%) and wouldn't be surprised to see him approach 45%.  I am keeping in mind that this will probably be on fewer attempts than most of those guys on the list (<100) and he should be set up for very good shots with the parts he has around him.

I wasn't a Hugginista as long as a lot of you guys were, but I after I saw the players he is connected to, I knew we had to have him.  I just didn't believe it would happen.

Hey, I was only neutral because I didn't know crap about the coaching candidates.
