So the following is the criteria for one of the pools Im entering. I like having one of these a year, different than filling out a whole bracket.

Anyone have any good picks/ideas?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Each participant selects five (5) teams.  Each team's seed is the multiplier.  Each round has the following point value:

Round 1: 1 point
Round 2: 2 points
Round 3: 4 points (Sweet 16)
Round 4: 8 points
Round 5: 16 points (Final Four)
Round 6: 32 points (Finals)
Winner:   64 points

Points are accumulated by taking the team's seed and multiplying it by the point value of the round.  Points are accumulated by participating in the round, not by winning the round.  The player with the highest combined total wins.

Examples:  If number 16 seed Jackson State loses in the first round, it will have accumulated 16 points.  If number 2 seed UCLA loses in the finals, it will have accumulated 126 points (2  X  (1+2+4+8+16+32)).  If a number 1 seed wins the tournament, it will have accumulated 127 points .

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last year I sucked it up and had ku as one of my teams b/c they were a 4 seed and 'one of the hottest teams' at the time.......that worked out well.

I have Kansas, Wisconsin, Texas AM, and UNC as my final four.  UNC over Kansas for the nat'l championship.

Wisconsin could be swapped for Florida but I picked Wisconsin because Florida has been a little sketchy lately.

With this setup, it can be much more rewarding if you can pick 'lower' seeds that could make the Elite 8 possibly.  Its all about risk/reward. If I picked all four number 1 seeds and they all made the final four, theres a good chance I still will not sniff the winnings b/c the real payoff is picking those middle seeded teams who could go a few rounds.  Whoever happend to pick George Mason last year had to have won.
