LOL @ overly high expectations for them.  (By the same token, LOL @ overly high expectations for Pullen, Brown, and Sutton next year.)  Also, LOL @ the notion that Huggins would in any way be disloyal to Bennett or Colon.  LOL @ all the LOL material on this board.

What are people expecting from Pullen, Brown, and Sutton?

I also don't remember any huge expectations for this season from Bennet and Colon.

Ok, I had higher expectations for Bennet than what he's currently showing, but not by much.  I was expecting him to have at least a minimal offense.  It's not unrealistic expectations with him being 7'3" and all.  I was hoping for at l east 6 ppg.  Not even close.  I could probably still deal with 6 ppg if he at least got some REBOUNDS.  I mean seriously, how do you not get rebounds when you're 7'3"?

It's sad, but I really wish we still had Tyler Hughes on this team.

I was under the impression Sutton was taller than he is.  I thought maybe he could help us out a bit as a banger down low.  6'4" isn't going to help out much in that area.

As far as Brown and Pullen, I don't have overly high expectations for them.  I expect them to be about as good as Stewart or Young, except with three more years to improve and get better.  I just want someone who can play aggressively(like Blake) drive to the basket(like Maybank) and shoot the occasional outside shot(like Stew.)

If either of these guys can do that, I'm happy, even if they're not great at it their first year.

I would really, REALLY love it if one of them could have a good turnover/assist ratio as well.  Too often we have Blake throw it away completely, or Stew make a lazy pass that gets intercepted.

Surely there's got to be a decent big man in the juco ranks that would love to play for Huggs.

I'm still trying to figure out who predicted a double-double for JB this year.

That one won't be lived down...almost as bad as "Decade of Dominance".

Jacob Pullen is the reason we don't need Tyree.

Things are going to be much better when we get Bill Walker, Jacob Pullen and Michael Beasley on the floor. I still think that 2006-07 is going to be good but 2007-08 is going to be teriffic.

next year we will have a team that only Jesus and his boys can beat. i'd pay large bills to see that Beasley/Moses matchup.

with pullen on point, freeing up evans and young has me constantly wiping drool from my desk....bennett will have added pounds and brain cells...

I expect Pullen to start with Stewy.

This crap is everywhere.  I'm not going to look up Colon and Bennett quotes.  At least not now.

    Fear the Brick
I think the disappointment, at least for me anyways, is that both Bennett and Colon don't really rebound.  And I also expected Blake Young to be better, hopefully an off season will help.

AFCat on KSUFans.com, the squawks are taking care of not allowing him to live it down.

Bennet needs to practice with Greenawalt in the mornings and then the football team in the afternoons.  With the receivers.

Bennet, slight disappointment. Not much though, expected a little bit better rebounding, maybe a smidge more athleticism.
Colon, after watching him run down the court the first open scrimmage all expectations were thrown out the window.
The person who I had much higher expectations was Young. For as many ppg he had in JUCO and as high as he was rated, i figured he could stroke a little better. He's good (at times) with the dribble drive, pretty good defender. Next year he'll be better i'm sure.

Thanks jarr, well done.  You need to post that over on Scout where that pack of idiots is continually running JB into the ground.

Interesting...

oh.  yeah, he has the team stats going back a few years.  i remember taking a look at uc right after huggins was announced.  don't recall the details terribly well - the message i took away was that he was adaptable.  very different strengths in different years.

And lol @ my "I want to see Taybron and Stewart on the floor together" comment.

An impact similar to Maric = me being hopeful.  I think he'll have an impact though.  Williams' impact will be bigger, and if we get Baldonaldo as well, our front court looks good.

Jarr-  Outstanding info.  I have to admit, I had much higher expectations for Bennett and Colon.  I guess we just hadn't had any highly rated inside prospects for so long that I had no real idea what to expect.  I thought Bennett would get 20+ minutes, score around 6 ppg (mostly on putbacks) grab several rebounds and be the back end of our pressure on D.  I didn't account for him being to weak physically to defend in the post.  For Colon, I had read that he was a banger so I anticipated some physical play in the post kind of like a Darnell Jackson at ku, but with more height.  Didn't expect polished O from either, just thought the D and boardwork would be significantly better.  Greenawalt should have a major impact in the off season on the progress of both.  Thanks for the good stats...you have helped to put them both in perspective.
