"We tell our recruits '... the sun shines every day on the Wildcats,'" Prince says.
The number of verbal commitments stands at 26, but beyond that Prince isn't saying much. "There are a couple of areas we need to address, but I'm not going to reveal the nature of those needs," he says. "I'll just say that we need to make sure we have the right kind of players around Josh (Freeman), and the right players on defense to deal with what we face in this conference."
"We have some unspoiled kids from unspoiled places," Prince said. "We think it's a blend of run and hit; the right kind of make-up to go a long way toward the goals we have."
Of the high number of Kansas commitments, Prince said, "I think every year is like this in Kansas." He said his staff evaluated each of the 280 high schools in the state,
"and once we were involved in these players, all of a sudden other school started showing an interest."
A positive outside influence on this year's recruiting class has been the arrival of men's basketball coach Bob Huggins, and the national spotlight that has followed him to the Flint Hills of Kansas."This is a Hall of Fame coach," Prince said. "His credentials are amazing, which is going to do nothing but help our entire community and every program we have on campus. When you see that Powercat on television, we all benefit no matter what sport it is.
