    The very best.
I ragged on him earlier.

The man took a 0-16 team to 10-6 in TWO seasons.

Woolite-"But...he inheirated so much!"

Woolite-"But...he is in Texas! We are in Kansas! We can never be that good!"

ARRG!
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

gillespie is a damn fine coach.  that was obvious last year.  your other 2 points are true as well, regardless of how wooliteish they might be.

give me gillespie over drew any day.  i hate drew (even though he might be the only coach in the big 12 to understand the strategic value of the 3 pointer in modern college basketball).

You can't be racist and like basketball.
I'm not sold.  He had two impressive wins in his 7 (!) game win streak:  UT and @TT.

It's not so much that he is a good coach, as that the Big XII (particularly the North) is full of crappy coaches.

Please tell me your full of crap. My sarcasm meter goes dead when we get ass-raped by ku.

He won by 16 on the road today. WOOLY HAS NEVER WON A ROAD GAME BY MORE THAN 11 POINTS!

If Wooly is the "coaching quality" barometer:

Yes, Billy Gillispie is an exceptional coach.

If we hired a new coach and he went 8-8 followed by 10-6 w/two wins over his rival (ku) on our home floor, I'd be damned happy.

I would be thrilled, too.

Drew is still better.

gillespie is a fine coach because his teams play hard.  very hard.  every game.  and because he recruits well.

being a good coach is actually a very simple thing.  hard to execute, but conceptually very simple.

Drew is a better recruiter.  I haven't seen his teams give up this season.
