If you don't want to talk contracts you prolly should have started a thread about OSU rather than one bitching about contract talk.

Shut your face and talk basketball.  Kansans get too worked up over crap like this.  It's like a bad memory of Dad walking out on you as a kid.  We are scared it's going to happen again so we bitch and complain and blaim someone else for our problems.  Pull out your checkbook and help the Athletic Department out if you want to see us be successful for an extended period of time in something other than women's volleyball and basketball.

I think we can handle OSU.  Home court advantage is going to help us after our big win.

Shut your face and talk basketball?  First, people are going to talk about what they want to talk about.  If you don't like those topics, don't click on them.  No one is forcing you.  You don't need to whine about it like a 12-year-old girl.  Second, who the coach is is very relavent to K-State basketball.  Seems appropriate to talk about it.

The point sd was trying to make is this; don't start a post where you say we have a game, quit talking about contracts.  Start a point about the game, then make a good post about the game.

For example, it will be interesting to see how we match up against an OSU team that even thought they don't really play a SLTH style, Ford has a SLTH philosophy when it comes to offensive rebounding.  They don't try to offensive rebound very hard and they don't allow teams to offensive rebound.  This also means they probably aren't going to let us get out into transition very much and will try to slow the game down.  They also protect the ball very well, but don't force a lot of turnovers.

I'd like to respond to your post, but it would be going off topic as SD pointed out.  Instead, read a previous thread I started.

True.

But the "UT has big guards that really bothered us" talking point is pretty overblown.  Its one Kietz used to say why Pullen/Clem struggle so much.

Of Bradley/Mason/Balbay/Brown (their guards that played the most minutes) nobody is taller than 6-2.  So while Clem/Pullen/Irving are shorter, they aren't that much shorter.

I thought Mason was 6-4.  Was wrong.  He's a lot stronger than pullen and clem, though.  I thought Clemente had a lot more trouble when Mason was guarding him and had a lot to do with the ugly offense in the second half.

Why did Mason decide to suck offensively as an upperclassman?  After his sophomore season I thought he'd be a much better scoring threat at this point in his career.  Instead he's a turnover machine without any kind of jump shot.

Um, I'm pretty sure Avery Bradley and Jordan Hamilton kind of made that decision for him.  At least they have a lot to do with his reduced minutes.

Yeah, Mason is a bowling ball.  But Kietz made it sound like UT towered over us and we couldn't get off a shot.  In reality both Clem and Pullen just missed quite a few very open looks.  Thought UT's guards did defend well.

It started happening last year though.  Turnovers way up, 3p% way down.

maybe mason is just an outstanding defender, regardless of size or strength?

osu's returning guards aren't outstanding defenders (maybe anderson is, never paid attention).  and it'd be very surprising if any of the freshman are either.

our guards should dominate when that pudgy little white guard plays.

Does it make sense to trot out some zone defense against O-State?  I loved it as a change-of-pace against Texas, and I think we should work on it some more before the ku game.
