    shame on you, non-believers
Frank is a loyal man. He isn't going to leave the school that gave him a chance when nobody else would.

Sincerely,
Bob (Morgantown)

He certainly stressed how grateful he was to the school.

I'm grateful for my first job...but I left after they refused to pay what I was worth.
"You guys want answers that are conversations between John and I. I ain't worried about it. I'm living the dream.... When I start worrying about a contract, I'd be cheating the kids and not doing my job." - Frank Martin

Will his former employer (the Miami high school) let him out of the doghouse?

You can't be racist and like basketball.

This is just as dumb as thinking a good contract will keep him around, FWIW.

I agree. It's dumb to think "loyalty" will keep Frank around.

Don't agree that a good contract won't keep him around though. So, you're only half right.

I think "loyalty" will help keep Frank around this time for less money than he might get somewhere else.  And helping him be loyal to his coaches.  Let's remember, Frank didn't follow your typical course to get here and I think he really has a different perspective.  The dude was turned down by FIU just a few seasons before we hired him for goodness sake.  So I do think if K-State at least gives he and his assistance a decent offer, he'll be here for a while.

Now, if he continues to have success, that can certainly change, I am not saying his loyalty will make him a lifer necessarily at K-State.  But I do think it has some legitimacy b/c he hasn't been a career 'move up the ladder' type of coach like most are.

Loyalty may keep the price of this extension down somewhat, but that'll only work this time around. If he continues to have success, we'll have to pay market value to keep him here.

I agree with that completely.  I think loyalty right now buys us 3-4 more years (of Top 20 success) at a cheaper rate than Frank's market value.  But after that things could change a bunch.

And hopefully we'll have our financial mess close to cleaned up in 4 years.
