The Jaguars are 5-1 with wins at Drake, at Eastern Illinois, over Austin Peay and Georgia State at the Glenn Wilkes Classic and over Indiana East and a loss to Auburn at the Glenn Wilkes Classic. The Jaguars return 4 starters from a squad that posted a 16-14 overall record, including an 9-9 mark in Summit League play, in 2008-09. The Jaguars are projected to challenge Oakland for the league championship.

The Jaguars are lead by F Robert Glenn, G-F Leroy Nobles and F Alex Young. Glenn is averaging 18 points/game (leads the team), 6 rebounds/game and 1 assist/game. Glenn is considered by many to be the most athletic player in the conference. Nobles averages 17 points/game, 5 rebounds/game and 3 assists/game. Nobles is a tough kid who the Jaguars consider their best defender. Young averages 16 points/game, 4 rebounds/game and 1 assist/game. Young spent his summer getting stronger and improving his ball handling skills. F Billy Pettiford is the team's leading rebounder with 6 rebounds/game. Pettiford, although not considered the most talented player, is looked on to be a team leader. G John Ashworth leads the team in assists with 6 assists/game. Ashworth is looked at as the Jaguars best player coming off of the bench.

The Jaguars are another solid team on the Cats non conference schedule. The Jaguars have won at least 15 games in 8 straight seasons (including 3 seasons of 20+ wins) but there has only been one NCAA Tournament appearance that ended with a First Round loss to Kentucky. There are many difficult challenges on the Jaguars schedule but, as I said earlier, they are expected to compete with Oakland for the Summit League championship.
