I have heard from an excellent source that we have a coach from Peoria, Illinois who works our camps and is a big KSU fan..I did my research and he coaches at Peoria Manual and he came when Huggs came on board...he is the one that sent dyricus sims edwards are way as well...and now i have heard he has 3 big time 2012 prospects and he is also the one who brought the kid to the elite camp last year that was really good and gave it to KC Ross..last name was Stewart...think we need to tap into our resources here...we need a solid 2012 class....GO KATS!

Yes I know who that guy is as well...that is the high school that won the USA Today National Champions and sent all those guys to University of Illinois .David Booth, AJ Guyton, Frank Williams, Sergio McClain, Marcus Griffith, Shaun Livingston...they are loaded every year...if Frank has a great relationship with him we need to get in there for sure..

    Ready for Maize girls!
Derrick Booth is a KSU fan??  I highly doubt it.  I'm a Peoria native and I know that we are trying to make inroads into IL (both Chicago and Peoria) but I haven't heard about any 2012 phenoms from the central IL area.  We are keeping tabs on Donivine Stewart (Limestone HS, technically Bartonville, not Peoria.  fun fact: same HS that Jim Thome went to) and Andrew Jordan (Manual HS, transferred from Woodruff HS), both 2011 recruits.

Also, if you're going to talk Peoria basketball, get your facts straight - AJ Guyton and Shaun Livingston both played for Peoria Central, not Manual.  Hell, you might as well have thrown in Mike Robinson if you wanted to mess up the names so bad.

Hey manhattanfan and KSTATECATS1, what names do you have for us for these 3 Peoria guys in the 2012 class?  I'm always excited to learn more about potential future cats.   :chirp:

derrick booth as a closet ksu/martin/hill fan doesn't seem right to me either.  and even if true, it'd seem like depaul would have 1st, 2nd and 3rd shots at any recruit he could influence.

antonio drummond is a peoria 2012 on track to be an elite recruit.  not from peoria, but nearby, is anthony beane, jr., another 2012 guard with a chance to be good.

another name is romeo johnson who does play hs at manual (drummond doesn't).

for some reason i think i remember his name as an attendee at this year's kstate elite camp.  i searched for it, but didn't find anything to corraborate that recollection.

My guy told me that it was not Booth...but an assistant at Manual with the last name Williams that worked the Kstate camps and brought those guys. I read online that their 2012 pg last name farmer was being courted by ohio state and tennessee..and they have a kid ranked on scout.com..named Jacoby Roddy who is a PF...2012  as well...this must be a huge high school...and there current pg signed with Ball State..would love for Frank to get these guys coming our way.

great info.  thanks kstatecats1!  hopefully martin keeps this williams and his guys happy.

Quote
Landis Farmer, 5′8”, Peoria Manual (Illinois Wolves); Farmer runs the show for the tough Illinois Wolves 15’s.  He is extremely fast with the ball in his hands, and has a slick handle.  Even though he is a true point guard, he has displayed the ability to score in many different ways all spring and summer.  Look for Farmer to make some noise with Manual over the course of the next few seasons.

Loving the info, KSTATECATS1.  Are you from the Peoria area?  Always good to meet someone new from my neck of the woods.
