Forgive me.  The next few paragraphs are about to get very  :powertard: .  I'm pissed.  I'm mad we lost.  I'm mad we lost to a Sunbelt foe that we used to thrash 50-0.  I'm pissed our offense can't punch it early in the game when we force two turnovers.  I'm pissed I have to be out in KC tomorrow where all my ku coworkers can gloat and "har-har" about our football teams.  I hate that we don't have a kicking game.

But I still   this team.  It doesn't make sense, but I was genuinely optimistic about how the game would turn out.  I knew that UL(they are now UL in my book, not ULL which makes them seem like a regular, crapty directional foe), isn't like UT, OU or even ku but I felt like I was watching the Cats in one of those epic battles.  I knew we had a fight on our hands before kick-off, and was on edge the entire game.

Getting back on topic after a bit of rambling, I cannot quit this team.  I am still excited to see next weeks game.  I am ready to see the Cats travel to the other LALA and try to continue our domination in that state
9not counting embarrasing loss to SDSU in bball.)  We looked pedestrian on offense, our ST was off the charts horrible, but our defense game to play.  I think it is the defense that has mee hooked, as long as those guys keep performing we will have a chance to win games.

crap, I'm done rambling.  EMAW some thugg is yelling outside my apartments.  I'm hammered.

Sorry this is a meltdowns-only board.   :runaway:

But yeah, except for the kicking and passing games, this team looks somewhat serviceable.  I think we're better than last year, aside from those 2 areas.  Next week could be an extreme arse-whooping, in which case I reserve the right to change my mind.

It's all because our coach isn't black any more.  JMO.

I actually agree.  I didn't see the first game, so this was my first glimpse at this team.  I was surprised at how good the defense played and how awesome DTrain is.  That play where he jumped over the defender was amazing.  On the flip side I couldn't believe how bad Coffman threw the ball, and was even my shocked at how bad Gregory was (don't want to hear his name ever again).  I can't believe our kicker is that sh*tty and no matter what happens we get a penalty on every punt.

That being said, I'm still somewhat confident this team can get to a bowl.  A lot of that has to do with how bad the other teams in the North are, but some of it is I honestly think the offense will improve and I think the defense will keep us in games (plus we get Harold back soon).

I guess I'm not pissed because I totally expected this loss; Definately a Loss next week.  But on the bright side, I think CU is a pretty easy win.

I'll be pleased with 5 wins because it will be more than I'm expecting.
