    Hey, basketball!!!
So Samuels, Sutton, & Pullen stayed at my friend's house when they came to Wichita for the Bob Chipman camp. My friend told me that those three told him that supposedly Denis was decisively going to skip out on his senior season and go play professional b-ball overseas, but at the last minute decided to stay in MHK for his senior season.

Has this been acknowledged?

From I remember what he said was that a professional basketball team in Puerto Rico (surprisingly enough) actually offered him a contract.

Wooh, we can thank our lucky stars to have Denis here for this season. :dancin:

I am glad he decided to stay. It would have been stupid for him to leave imo.

Why?  He'd have a tough road to the nba that would involve being overseas or in the d league anyway so why not start early?  I'm glad he stayed, but could see the logic in going.

I could see him getting drafted late in the second round next year. If he doesn't get drafted, he could still probably get a contract with the Puerto Rican team.

Denis would have f'd up his NBA chances by going and playing in PR. He would get no attention there. Who scouts the PR?  The guy has a lot of eyes watching him this year. I think he's got NBA potential, not just D-league.  What, I believe, NBA scouts want out of this guy is to be more in control of his freakish speed, set-up scoring chances, avoid retarded turnovers,  and stop throwing up shots he doesn't need to.  If he get 12pts, 4-5 assts a game, he's 2nd round, easy.  THE MAN CAN BE THE BEST GUARD IN THE BIG12 if he's ready and willing.  :kstatriot:

it'll be interesting to see if he can avoid shooting 15% like he did for his last five games of the year. That's the kind of NBA potential we're dealing with here.

His #s were better than that this year, weren't they?  I don't think Denis would have been drafted this year.  Are your expectation so low b/c you expect Wally and C. Kell to steal some of the offensive thunder?

Greatest thing about Denis, IMO (aside from his being the best player on our team), is his aggressive attitude.  Reminds me of a more vocal Jeremiah Massey.  He obviously cares about the game, and he can can slip into superhuman mode when he gets pissed off.  So fun to watch.

I had a class with Massey.  In Justin Hall, in the big lecture room.  Dude would lay down at the top of the stairs and sleep.  Prof. never saw.  How so very  :kstatriot:
I'd much rather have a 69 year old coach than one that weighs 400+ pounds.
