not bad and it looks obvious from the video on rivals.  ESPN scout sees him as a long time starter though not an impact type player.  They give him a pretty solid rating as well, 77.

http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=84508&season=2010&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fncf%2frecruiting%2ftracker%2fplayer%3frecruitId%3d84508%26season%3d2010

Evaluation

Hostrup has the size for the tackle position we like to see at the major level of competition. Plays from both a two and three point stance but does exhibit some lower body stiffness; should begin his collegiate career at right tackle. Flashes initial quickness coming out of his stance but his pad level is too high; displays a good base and leg drive. Demonstrates his ability and balance getting to 2nd level defenders; can sustain and play on his feet in space. Flashes the ability to reach block and gain leverage on offset defenders; effective when pulling and trapping; good body control sealing inside and locating a moving target. While showing quick set ability from a two point stance, we feel this is an area where time is necessary to develop his skills; Plays too tall and must improve his knee bend. Not explosive with his initial punch and placement, leans in with forearms; must use his arm length to advantage. This is an aggressive tough player who works to finish blocks and plays with an attitude. Hostrup will not be an early starter or impact player, rather one who after a red shirt year should begin to see meaningful playing time and eventually become a long term starter.

some of these evals are entertaining to read.  The Hefley kid from Riverton who just committed to Arkansas has a good one.

Hefley would just as soon body slam you as look at you. He is a true blue collar football player. He has excellent size and strength for a high school athlete. Plays multiple positions as inside linebacker, outside linebacker, defensive tackle, tight end and H-back. A real tough gut that likes the physical nature of the sport. Displays a great blitz attitude as a linebacker; quick off the snap and penetrates through small openings or destroys whoever is in front of him to make a play. Very solid linebacker from tackle to tackle but limited somewhat in space. Uses his hands to separate, disengage or throw the opposition out of the way. Extremely powerful player that manhandles most opponents. Shows some lateral quickness on the defensive side of the ball and can flatten his pursuit angle to make a play. Destroys lead blockers that try to iso block him; often knocks blocker into the lap of the ball carrier. As a tight end possesses good hands and is a raging bull once he has the football under his arms. Once he has the football, would rather run over the defender than try to make a move to avoid him. Loves the physical nature of the sport in all facets of the game. A very good short yardage H-back that plows the way for the running back; not uncommon to see him get more than one block on a play. Also demonstrates the ability to carry the football in similar situations and is very tough to bring down; a real load as a runner. Hefley has a ton of toughness and plenty of talent. He can develop into a very good collegiate player once he gets zeroed in to a specific position. If he doesn't make it in football he could be a bouncer at the local pub.

Didn't 90% of the KSU fans on here think he was a KSU guy too? Glad you can all laugh at yourselves too  BTW, I also put on that list that some were just "gut feeling". By your response, I see that you were not so confident in posting your thoughts???? But you can post about how others were wrong??? WOW, your a real MAN!

90%?  you poll everybody?  because it was pretty common knowledge that Hefley has lots of family down in Ark. and the 'backs jumped on him early with one of his first offers.
still don't understand your angry and defensive response.  you said that if us pitiful, clueless KSU fans "wanted to know where any HS recruit was going, all we had to do was ask".  maybe you shouldn't paint with such broad strokes.  or think too much of yourself.    :users:

The truth = if he did all those things that this Espn article wished he could do then he would be a ***** guy and everyone under the sun would have offered him and we would have almost zero shot.
I always laugh  at theses analysis pieces.

Good under the radar athlete.

Depends.  Am I retarded if I'm not as smart as you think you are?  You better save all your energy for all your other blind guesses.  Remember this one:

Is it more sad that I got those gut feeling PREDICTIONS on kids that were 1 & 2 stars wrong, or the fact that I am getting under your skin so much that you go back research my old posts. HOOK LINE & SINKER

revising history?  you got on here and played the "i'm a big shot with inside sources" card and told us that we should just ask you if we wanted to know where ANY HS kid was going to end up.  your words.

p.s. - hefley is a 3-star.  sorry if that's not good enough for you to properly know.

Only 1 or 2 stars by the Kansas Seminole rating system.  Only good players will be upgraded to tomahawks and nunchux. :bonk: :sport028:

I will give you 7 days to respond with the quote where I said "I'm a big shot with inside sources" since you quoted me. If you do not, then I will assume that you are the very definition of one of the reasons why KSU fan base are hilarious. You make stuff up to try to prove a point, then when you get proven wrong, you make more stuff up and it's a never ending trail of made up, pulled out of your arse, stuff that in the end, makes YOU look like an idiot. 7 days, thats a long time, surely you can find it where I said that.

Using the search function, it only took me about 30 seconds to find this:

Anytime you want to know whats going on with recruiting and how it looks for a the Cats for a High School kid, just ask. You might not like what your hear, but I will speak the truth.

http://www.ksufans.com/forums/index.php?topic=41044.msg572676#msg572676

So let's recap.  The type of person that can make that statement must be a) really arrogant and b) no, arrogant pretty much sums it all up.
It's just icing on the cake that you're not as plugged in to the recruiting scene as you think you are.

jeebus.  english tutor, please.  the quotation marks in the above quote are used to group a series of words that belong together so as not create confusing language with the rest of the sentence, i.e. "i'm a big shot with inside sources" was referring to the card you were playing and in no way was quoting any of the text in your posts.  i could have done the same thing with hyphens but chose not to.

and that is the card you played - having the arrogance to say that you know more about the kids that KSU is recruiting than every other member of this board [remember such quotables as the the "just a courtesy mention" about justin mccay when his latest update reveals differently].  you see, the "your words" part of my post was referring to your request that we should just ask you if we want to be enlightened by you.
