1. Kansas State QB Josh Freeman

It's easy to fall in love with Freeman's physical tools -- size (6-foot-5¾, 248 pounds), rifle arm and deceptive mobility -- but he is not the next Ben Roethlisberger or Joe Flacco. Those players came out of college with great instincts, which Freeman is lacking. Too many times on film we see him picking up coverages late or staring down his primary target and not going through his progressions. Some of his weaknesses can be coached up, but there is no guarantee he has the mental capacity and natural recognition skills to develop into a solid starter in the NFL. We would have no problem taking a chance on him in the second round, but if a team like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (No. 19) or Minnesota Vikings (No. 22) takes him in the first round, it would be a huge reach. Teams must be wary of making a desperation move simply because there is a huge drop-off in quarterback talent after Freeman.



I've had him going anywhere between #19-#22 in my Mock Draft. I even put him in the Second Round once. Right now I've got him #19.

Well anyone who doesn't beat NU,MU,or ku at least once should not be a first round pick. His only hope in the NFL is if he has at least 3 years to learn behind a veteran QB. I will not remember him as one of the great ksu QB's.

There are certain players who are better suited for the college game than they are the pro game and there are certain players who are better suited for the pro game than they are the college game. Josh falls into the latter category. I just wish he would have stayed to get some tutoring from a real coach (Snyder). Of course he basically HAD to leave like Mike had to leave to go to the NBA even though it was for different reasons.

In three years he did throw to 2 WR's that were drafted on day one and he handed off to two RB's that were on NFL rosters last season.   Now last year the talent around him sucked but the year before that it wasn't bad at all with Jordy, James Johnson etc.  How many first day picks has ku had at WR?  How many RB's have they put on NFL rosters in recent years?

QFT.  How many games did Cutler win at Vandy?  Seems like he's a pretty decent pro QB.
