I was in one of the first pilot groups to switch over to Zimbra, so I've been using it since last Friday. It is quite a bit better than the old webmail, and actually has a similar feel and functionality to gmail. It's obviously not as nice as gmail, but it's a major step up from what we had. You should join the test group since it will allow you to get the conversion done before they try to convert the whole campus over spring break.
