It doesn't have to be military, but let's face it, most are going to be military aircraft because they drop bombs and are badass. Just an explanation of why.

B-1... I would kill to own one of these. Max takeoff weight of nearly half a million pounds, and variants (mostly prototypes, some proposed as replacements) which could achieve Mach 2.2.

That's a B-1 bro, but i like the way you think.  B-52's are bad ass too, if you've ever been around the bombing range by Salina when they come by, those engines in full scream mode are very  :runaway:

Sorry, I was looking at B-52 pics right before I decided to post the thread. I love B-52s and am glad to think we'll have them in the skies for a few more decades, but they just don't have the modern qualities that make me like the B-1.

was excited thinking this was going to be an elite air travel thread, but it's just a dumb rednecks like engines thread.

I've seen my two favorite up there already.  The Warthog and the SR71.  I was just down at the Cosmosphere the other day.  I love seeing that Blackbird in the lobby.

I'd give honorable mention to these two:

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

It just looks badass. Fast as hell too. Near Mach 3.

Near Mach 3? PFFFT. The SR-71 cruises at mach 3 and can travel from Washington DC to LA in a little over an hour.

    I may be full of sh*t, but i won't be de-turd.

SR71 Blackbird

The Blackbird is my favorite. The black is bitching on that thing. Too bad it was too expensive to fly and got put out of commission.

These two are a close 2nd and 3rd: F-117 Nighthawk and B-2 Stealth Bomber...

Nighthawk

B-2

The Blackbird was just one big gas tank with wings.  On the ground, fuel would leak out of it nearly everywhere.  It took altitude and speed for the plane's joints to expand and seal itself.
