"After listening and reading Mitch Richmond's comments about his admiration for Ahearn Fieldhouse and its great atmosphere, is there any possible way to remodel Ahearn for KSU's men and women's basketball?

Surely with our topnotch engineers and architects, we could re-tool Ahearn and re-capture our past glory days, ala Iba Arena at Oklahoma State. Heck, they expanded Iba Arena from 8,000 to 15,500 and were able to keep its original mystic.

It seems such a waste to let Ahearn slip away to host women's volleyball, indoor track & field, and indoor batting cages."

Recruiting is just a big tease.

I believe that was the original plan in the mid-80s with the State of Kansas picking up the majority of the tab.  Unfortunately, the dolt of a president KSU had at the time, wanted a shiny new arena instead and the state told him to pay for it himself.  That's where Fred Bramlage and (mostly) K-State students over the next several decades come in.

OOD is top notch.  AFH is a dump.  I just hope the additions and HOF turn out like the mock ups looked.
