Wooly would never recruit a kid like that. He can hit the shot so therefore he isn't athletic enough to defend or can't make fancy dunks.

He was good. Way behind the arc. Good get for Ark.ST.

He looked legit.

    The very best.
Yea..but there must be a reason no one is recruiting him.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

He didn't look tall or athletic so I am guessing teams shy away.

But N.Iowa has a shooting guard Iowa that nobody wanted. Creighton always those kinds of players too.

Coaches are assuming he can't play defense because he's a short  white boy . Just a guess.

I'm guessing it has more to do with video evidence than assumptions. Just a wild hunch.

My bad, that is the kid from Minneapolis, Ryan Wedel.

Wedel got offers from Ark St, San Diego St, Davidson, Lehigh, San Diego, Missouri St, Tulsa, and Wich St.

The JR is from Burlington, Tyrel Reed.

He is being recruited by NC, ku and Illinois to name a few.

Ahhh. I knew his brother. Most of the Wedels in Minneapolis are doctors.

Seriously, it can't go both ways.  If we truly had shown any interest in this kid, let alone offered him, there would be one fan pleased (you) and every other K-State fan would equate it to a sure sign that Wooly had quit similar to some of the guys TA signed his last few years.

5-11 SGs don't play for high major teams b/c for every game they hit 3 or 4 treys they'll have a dozen where they can't even get one off and will be exploited continually on the defensive end.

Ben Gordon of Uconn was like 6'2" .

You don't want short guys but if he's quick and can catch and shoot ,he could be a good system player.

We can get guys open off a screen .  If can play D then he would be better than alot of other Kstate perimeter players.

Not saying he is that good.  Just saying height can be overrated.

If this guy was playing on this team from HS.  and could play some D then we win a few more games.

Just a guess.

I doubt it.  Really.  If he was that good his best offer wouldn't be WSU.  There is too much scouting and exposure in basketball to miss that much.

Don't ever doubt the ability of a Minneapolis Lion. They'll send you to Rock City.
