From the KC Star today:  “I tapped into a zone that everybody’s been waiting to see. Finally I have reached that point,” Clayton said.

Does he realize that he began to "get into the zone" in the 4rth quarter once the game was over and UL was throwing 2nd teamers in there?  He's the freaking A-Rod of KSU football.  A lot of potential, can put up numbers, but is no where to be found when the game matters.  I realize he's running behind a line that could be conquered by angry girl scouts, but he hasn't done anything special against good competition when it really matters.  He ran for 637 yds last year (70ypg), but in Big 12 play he ran for 308yds (44ypg).  I guess I don't understand where his confidence comes from.  It certainly can't come from his performance.

I hate it when people make that argument about a-rod.  My guess is they've been watching either too much PTI or listening to too much Peter Gammons.  The fact is that the "greatest player to ever play" should make his teammates and his team better (see Michael Jordan) and rodriguez simply does not do that.  If I were building a team I'd take Jeter any day of the week and twice on Sunday!

IMO, this offense needs Clayton to play well.  Even outside the long run in the 4th, I thought he had a solid game.  I liked seeing him involved in the passing game, and he did a solid job picking up blitzes.  I do wish he'd quiet down a bit though and just let his play speak for him.

This past weekend was the first time I've seen Clayton keep driving after first contact.  Usually as soon as he's hit his feet stop moving and he falls over but that seems to be improving.  If he keeps this up he'll be a solid back this season.

I like you Poet, always have, but in this case I think your ass is crazy!  Baseball isn't a team game... seems like a team sport when the pitcher throws it to the catcher who then throws it back. 

Maybe that's a-rod's problem... he doesn't think its a team game either.

Sometimes if you can get a shoestring on T Gun ... he goes tumbling down.  He had a chance for a really nice gain last saturday on a little swing pass, but the Ville guy got his shoestring.
