Don't know if KSU is recruiting this kid, but he is the real deal. Saw him play this weekend for Hutch CC and is a carbon copy of Kevin Durant. Tall, rail thin, and long arms. Can shoot, rebound and play inside as well as outside. Don't know if KSU has a scholly left but should definitely try to land this guy like they should of landed Bobby Maize instead of Abdula Herra  Only problem I see with Dixon is his ability to play in a rough and tough big 12, but Durant did it and did it very well!

BTW he is Durant's foster bro or something like that...

He is a great person too. Takes the team out to meals with Durants $$$$. Is a team player that also knows when hit the open man as well as when he needs to take over a game. He will probably go to Tennessee with Swanson's connections and ties to that program.

first off, funny you mention the Durant comparison...
Quote
Seattle Supersonics rookie and Suitland native Kevin Durant knows he would not have been the 2006-07 NCAA Player of the Year nor the second pick in June’s National Basketball Association Draft without a solid base.

A portion of what made Durant the person he is today came from his association with the Community Kinship Coalition, a nonprofit organization that aims to empower youth to be productive and successful leaders.
On Saturday, Durant returned some of the support he received from CKC by being the guest of honor at CKC’s 15th Annual Hoops For Peace Anti-Violence Youth Summit and 3-on-3 basketball tournament held at the Annapolis Boys and Girls Club.

Durant, Milwaukee Bucks guard Charlie Bell and Suitland High graduate Cliff Dixon were the featured guests at the event.

Both have Maryland ties obviously and played for the same AAU club.
Anyway, here's some more scoop on Cliff....

also, from what i've seen off scout/rivals/internet digging, it'd be a tight recruiting war for KSU.
his list (counting what he had out of high school and at the moment) consists of...
Georgetown
Maryland
Oklahoma
Tennessee
Gonzaga
West Virginia
Oklahoma State
Kentucky

I have a buddy (huge OU fan) who watched Hutch a few times early last season.  He said Maze didn't look as good as he expected, but that Herrera looked really good.  I told him that KSU looked like the odd's on favorite to sign AH, and he said there was no way a player like that would end up at KSU.  (Typical OU fan thing to say.)

Am I missing something here? JMart said that he can't go to the ACC or SEC. But you guys are giving lists with teams from those two conferences.

and durant's booster payments excluding from going longhorn makes us the frontrunner  :ksu:
When I was a kid growing up in the projects, I used to dream of going into space, of escaping the slums, of killing an Ewok!

Herra was terrible at Hutch and couldn't play more than 3 minutes at a time.  Half the time he didn't make it down the court because of HCC's fastbreak game. What value will he have at KSU? None in my opinion in fact he is just a more polished Colon with no value other than a big body. Maize on the other hand scored like 27 a game and averaged like 5 assists and 5 rebounds and was 1st team all american. He took over games and is better than Pullen or Clemente because he is also a shutdown defender (see frosh season vs. ku)

The games my buddy watched were very early in the season.  I'm assuming Herrera was relatively healthy at that point.  But I didn't personally watch any of the games, so I really can't say how either player looked.  But, like I said, my buddy offered the info, and he really had no reason to hype Hererra up.  If anything, he had reasons to hype up Maze, which he didn't
