crowd really sucked.

high point:  sweet, soft grey warmups.
low point:  beasley's never coming back.  we have to watch a whole year of him never coming back.
funniest point:  herrera sitting behind the bench w. the trainers and leaning over the chairs to listen in during timeouts.
stupidest point:  playing brown.
most puzzling point:  martin's defensive genius.  still don't understand it.  no one looks good defensively.  people out out of postion all game.  and crap teams always shoot like 20-30%.  weird.
nice touch point:  as an homage to the ongoing financial crisis, the katz feature robert reich as a trainer occupying herrera's seat on the bench.

player comments:

pullen - looked like a legit. high-major d1 player.  so, you know, he really stood out.
brown* - gmafb.
awaji - lol @ his handle.
clemente* - phenomenally fast, so fast he outran his skills.  he has no skillz!
sutton - going to be the best athlete on the court most times he plays.  really should try to do more w. that.  better defense than a year ago.  also had a couple nice richmondy moves where he took a power dribble or two jumpstopped @ the ft line and went up for a j.  don't think he hit, but a good move for him.
merriewether - had the best drive of the night.  seriously.

samuels - phenomenally thin, phenomenally easy to knock off balance, phenomenally easy to move out of the lane.
kent - his best sport might not even be basketball!
colon - more than likely, ditto.  still, probably the katz's best all around big.
anderson - only katz big man with low post moves.

prospectus - should suck.  only martin's defensive genius can save us now.

*  no way in hell either is this bad.

agree with most of that

Awaji didn't play enough for me to get a feel for his ability, looked somewhat lost
Clemente seemed to improve in the second half, had a sweet behind his head pass
Brown is that bad
Bill kurtis found the internet and our trainer at the end of that rainbow

Fouled on one. Think he missed the other.

Clemente is better than how he played, which was not good, but not terrible.
Brown is as bad as possible.

Thanks for telling us exactly what we all expected out of this team, especially in the first game

Now that's how you get out a f***ing blood stain.
Awaji didn't play enough for me to get a feel for his ability, looked somewhat lost

awaji went to the scorers table to check in midway thru the 1st half but didn't make it in time.  that pissed martin off and told him to get back and he wasn't going to get in.  went down to the end of the bench and basically told him he better be ready to go in the game when called upon (in a way only martin can).  he rode the pine until the scrubs entered late in the game.
