one of the K-State football activities I really miss; eagerly anticipating the rankings to come out sunday afternoon to see where we were ranked.  (sigh)

My buddies and I were commenting on that very thing on the drive home yesterday while listening to the second half on the radio.  We also noted that on the drive over that morning we spent most of the trip from KC talking presidential politics instead of breaking down the OU game.  Honsestly cannot remember the last time we didn't listen to pre-game radio, either WHB or KMAN on the drive over.

The sad fact is that I haven't even been upset the last two weeks watching us get beat.  I was a freshman in 1989 when LSnyder came to Manhattan and got more pissed off about losses when we had absolutely nothing.

Thanks for the lowered expectations RP.

hell, even in 2004 I was pissed we lost to OU.

yesterday, we were all happy because at least ku got blown out as well.  :frown:
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Takes some of the joy out of the games itself too.  I foundly remember wondering if the score was going to look impressive enough to move us up in the rankings.  Hoping teams ahead of us lose. :-[

I was thinking the same thing last night when we drove home after the game. Remembering how cool it looked when we cracked the USA Today Top 20 at the time in 1993. Still probably have that paper somewhere. Having OU in Manhattan and seeing LSnyder talking to Stoops, Venables and Mo before the game made you happy and depressed.

Reality is we can get back there again, but no chance of it happening with the goatee on the sideline.

gotta admit, good to know you fball tards are getting a taste of ksu bballfan's life during the ddod.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

Just my thoughts, but being great in football is a way more fun than b ball. There are quite a few really good b ball teams every year, only a few dominant football teams.
