Both KSU and Colorado had fewer yards than their D-1AA opponents.

KSU at least won, although man.. we shouldn't have to win it with special teams.  Illinois state has several D-1A players that are well coached and should have won this game.   When our special teams score more points than our offense to win a game, that's a nice thing, but I'd rather the offense score 2-3 times more.

Sucks man.

I love the smell of peat in the evening.  That smell, you know that earthy smell...  Smells like...whisky !

"we shouldn't have to win it with special teams"

Special teams were missing over the past two seasons...if they are back then we're for sure looking at a better record.  Anyone who thought the offense was going to lock in and perform greatly in game #1 was just kidding themselves.  The components appear to be there for a productive season.  Sure, there are weaknesses...but if this weekend is any indication the Big XII North is, as we thought, wide open.  Unless something unplanned happens in the next few weeks I'll start really evaulating what the Wildcats can do in this conference starting at about week 5.
