    The EMAWdyssey
"Let's zero in on a team that loves to load up on the fluffiest cupcakes of all. The Jayhawks are the only BCS school to have played a I-AA or provisional I-A team in each of the past 10 seasons."

Why are they so easy to make fun of?

seriously, you guys can't say that Mangino learned to coach from snyder and then turn around and make fun of ku when they schedule cupcakes.  bad form.
According to ku police reports, the fight involved as many as 100 people.
“We’re pretty sure an incident occurred,” said Capt. Schuyler Bailey, ku Public Safety Officer
“We will handle any discipline regarding this incident internally, and we will have no further comment about it.” Perkins

really, you have to give credit where credit is due.  I mean, Mangino schedules MORE cupcakes than Snyder, but he somehow learned how to not get snubbed by the BCS Bowl System.  If Snyder could have done that we would be talking about the 1998 National Champion Kansas State K-State Wildcats.

wow, lfbiq.  snyder ('98 ksu) was THE reason two teams from same conf are now allowed to play in bcs games.  at that time only the winner of the title game was allowed.  the rule was changed the next season, iirc.

i think that is incorrect.

i think that conferences were allowed to have multiple teams in the bcs prior to 98.

the rule change in 98 required the bcs to place any bcs conference team ranked 4th or higher (in the bcs equation) in a bcs game if they did not win their conference championship.

there were also some mandates placed to put non-bcs conference teams in a bcs bowl if they attained a certain rank in the bcs equation.  :cyclist:

Incorrect.  There were 2 Big Televen teams in BCS bowl games after the 1998 season.  Ohio State defeated aTm in the Sugar and Wisconsin defeated UCLA in the Rose.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowl_Championship_Series#1998-99_season

there were 2 big 10 teams that year

Thus, the reason they do not have a champchip game for their conference.  The Big12 prolly wooda had 3 in last year if there wasn't a Dr. Pepper game.

Here's the Snyder Rule: http://espn.go.com/ncf/s/2001/0419/1175942.html
