on ESPN today
Cowboys' Terence Newman chats with SportsNation on Thursday.
Welcome to The Show! On Thursday, Dallas Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman will be stopping by to chat.
Newman just finished his fifth season in the NFL, all with the Cowboys. Dallas chose the defensive back out of Kansas State with the fifth overall pick in the 2003 draft.
Newman has already accumulated 16 INTs in his career, returning one for a TD. He has established himself as one of the best CBs in the league, as shown by his selection to the Pro Bowl following the 2007 season, despite having only started in 11 games.
Send in your questions now and then join Newman at 1:30 p.m. ET on Thursday!

SportsNation Buzzmaster: Terence will be here shortly! Keep your questions coming!
SportsNation Terence Newman: Hello! I'm ready for your questions!
Clint (Tyler, Texas): Terrence, is your foot completely healed now? I've never been more excited for a football season in my life. Go Cowboys!
SportsNation Terence Newman: The foot is completely healed. No effects whatsoever. It's one of those things where it just took time to heal. I gave it plenty of time and now I'm fine.
MoneyShot: (Dallas, Georgia): Terence... would you still like to return punts even though Adam Jones and Patrick Crayton might fill that role?
SportsNation Terence Newman: Yes. If they want me to return punts I'm absolutely up for it. If they also need to use the spot to get some other guys on the field I'm up for that. Just depends on what the coaches want.
Rob (Dallas): Who has been the toughest receiver for you to cover so far in your career?
SportsNation Terence Newman: Terry Glenn.
Travis (Dallas, Tx): Have you and any of the other players talked about how this is the last season in Texas Stadium? Is there going to be any kind of special emphasis this season to make sure you guys send out the old stadium with a bang?
SportsNation Terence Newman: Not really. We haven't thought about it much. We have to prepare for the teams instead of a welcome to a new stadium. The goal is always to win a Super Bowl so yeah, it would be nice to win it in the last year of the current stadium. But we'd also like to win it next year in the new stadium!
Dave, DC: With Adam J. coming in, there's been talk of him taking some spotlight off of you..do you feel or see this as an issue? I'm assuming as long as you're in the pro-bowl you don't mind company from the boys with you.
SportsNation Terence Newman: I've never really looked for the spotlight. I just go out and play. I've always wanted to make the Pro Bowl but I try to stay under the radar and just not worry about anything like that.
Jordan (Slinger, WI): Any reason you wear No. 41?
SportsNation Terence Newman: No. I was supposed to be No. 21 but somebody bought it the day I was drafted. It was up for grabs and somebody paid for it. So I was just given 41.
Rob (Boston): Terry Glenn? Really? You're just saying that.
SportsNation Terence Newman: Nah, he's one of the toughest receivers I have ever faced. He comes out of his breaks better than anybody in the league. He has cat-like quickness. He just understands the game.
Matt, IN: Growing up did you always want to be a CB? Who were your football idols? Thanks
SportsNation Terence Newman: I started off as a RB and kind of gradually moved to the defensive side of the ball. The first position was FS and I got moved to CB and it just stuck from there.
Matt (Lubbock, TX): Terence, how do you think Kansas State will be this year? They lost a big weapon in Jordy Nelson. Give me a record and a bowl game.
SportsNation Terence Newman: I hope they are a bowl team this year and get back to the teams that Coach Snyder was known for having.
Jeremy (New Orleans): Can you clear it up with the public about the statements you made about Roy "Horse Collar" Williams?
SportsNation Terence Newman: Nothing to clear up.
Joey Flash from New Windsor, NY: Mr. Newman, the Cowboys have a few really nice corners. Honestly who will get the nod on the other corner spot on your team? Adam Jones or Anthony Henry?
SportsNation Terence Newman: That's a tough question. Right now it is Anthony Henry over there. Injuries take place and you just never know. I don't know what the higher authorities are thinking. I think it is Ant's job to lose.
Matt, IN: I know you can only take so many questions, but you have to talk about the Hayden hit. When there's a hit like that, do you feel it or does it sorta go right through you? Thanks
SportsNation Terence Newman: It was one that didn't hurt. It was just so quick that I didn't know what the heck happened.
DCFanatic, NY: Are you good friends with Deion? What about Irvin? Any former Cowboys?
SportsNation Terence Newman: I talk to Deion. He sends me a text before every game.
Jimmy (Lansing, MI): Terrence, how has TO been in the locker room with the 'Boys? Is he one of the leaders off the field?
SportsNation Terence Newman: He's never in the lockerroom. He's always playing dominoes. He's pretty much like every other guy.
Karl (Wichita KS): Any receivers out there that can challenge you speed wise?
SportsNation Terence Newman: I have no idea. There are definitely fast receivers but you don't really know until you race head to head.
Paul: (Dallas Texas): Which NFC East team to do you like to play the most?
SportsNation Terence Newman: I have the most picks against Washington. I think I have 6 or 7 in like 9 games. I think it's just luck that I have so much success against them. The more I practice the luckier I get!
B.J. (Atlanta, GA): T New, man why haven't you asked to get in on some of the offensive snaps? The Tuna used you as a decoy a couple of times, but I would really like to see you and A.J. get some deep balls thrown you all's way.
SportsNation Terence Newman: Good question! I did my second year and last year I was fighting some injuries. I would really welcome that. I could help the team quite a bit I think.
Matt, IN: Jessica Simpson: Distraction, just nice to look at, or both? Thanks
SportsNation Terence Newman: She's not a distraction to me at all. I doubt she is a distraction to most guys on the team.
Dinero, Richmond, VA: What's the part of your game you're most proud of? I believe you're top 5 as CBs go, people don't throw to your side much, that's the ultimate respect!
SportsNation Terence Newman: Probably tackling. Corners get a lot of flack about not wanting to tackle.
Ryan (Colonial Heights, Virginia): Terence, I'm a huge Cowboys fan that thinks you don't get mentioned enough league-wide for your play. How does the team stay focused on one game at a time when a lot of "experts" pick you to go to the Super Bowl?
SportsNation Terence Newman: It's easy to stay focused. Esp. the way the league works. A 2-7 team can beat a 9-0 team .. you just never know. You can never overlook a team. Anybody can play on any day.
Roger (Manteca, CA): I saw your mustang on the internet. How fast have you gone in that bad boy?
SportsNation Terence Newman: I've got it to about 120.
Mikey(Lackawanna,NY): Who was your favorite player and team growing up?
SportsNation Terence Newman: I was a Cowboys fan because my family is from Texas. It's crazy to think that I'm a Cowboy now.
Dinero, Richmond, VA: I remember you expressing the idea to play until you're 40 like Darryl Green do you think that's possible to play all those years with ONE team?
SportsNation Terence Newman: One team part might be hard. But it is possible. You just have to take a severe pay cut. It probably could be possible for a DB. But I don't think you should play if you don't have the passion just to collect the paycheck. You should do it because you still have a fire and passion for the game.
Jake (Atlanta): With all the attention for every mistake an athlete makes these days, how much does that affect you, when you are off the field, to stay out of trouble?
SportsNation Terence Newman: I think I'm more of a quite person off the field anyway. I don't put myself in harm's way. I stay out of places I'm not wanted. I just take the necessary precautions to stay out of trouble.
Brett (SF): Did you have any offers from any of the Texas schools? Why did you choose K-State?
SportsNation Terence Newman: I was from Kansas and at the time they were DBU because they had such a great history. They were on the up-rise and had some good seasons. I just decided to stay home.
DCFanatic, NY: Who the best QB you faced last season?
SportsNation Terence Newman: I don't know. The QB reflects the receiver. It's hard to say.
SportsNation Terence Newman: Not to take credit from them .. but if the receiver isn't getting open, the QB isn't going to get him the ball.
BC (Austin, TX): As a Texas Longhorn fan, I just thought I'd let you know I have forgiven you in my heart for all the havoc you wreaked on our poor team during your days at K-State.
SportsNation Terence Newman: BC, I love you, man. Now support the Cowboys!
Ben (San Antonio, TX): Who is the one guy on an opposing team that you would just love to light up?
SportsNation Terence Newman: Everybody! Anybody! Anytime I can light somebody up it's great. I will always take joy in that.
Ty (Wichita, Ks): What are the overall expectations for this season? And, do you feel like with your new contract you will be a Cowboy for the rest of you career?
SportsNation Terence Newman: Personally I want to lead the team in INTs and make another Pro Bowl. Teamwise I'd like to make it past our first playoff game. If we can do that, anything can happen.
Neil (Dallas): Were you surprised by the result of the Super Bowl? You smoked the Giants twice, after they beat you did you really think they could go all the way?
SportsNation Terence Newman: After they played them the first time I knew they would give them a run for their money. I didn't know they would go all the way but I knew it would be a good game.
HUGO TUSTIN CA: What are your thoughts on Terry Glenn is he cool or is he leaving us???
SportsNation Terence Newman: I don't know. Only he knows the answer to that question. The knee is fine for sure. I play golf with him. I can assure you that is OK. But it's just up to him and Jerry if they can work it out.
Thanks for the questions and all the support. Look for the Cowboys this year!
