I keep hearing and reading things like "we've never been in this situation before with only two QBs."
The premise of that argument is debatable but there is an element of truth in it. The truth is that we have never been in the situation of having one of the very top true frosh QBs in America, let alone one with the stature of a mountain. It is hardly surprising that other QBs are being scared off as a result. This isn't any frosh, this is a guy who is going to claim this job as his at some point and assuming health, will relegate all others to career backup status. This is the situation that we have never been in.
Too many on this board have grown familiar and perhaps even too close to the Evridge family to see and comprehend some simple truths. One such truth is that Evridge was slotted for a reserve role from the day Freeman signed wth K-State. Talent and upside being the primary reason and Freeman's status as the new staffs signature recruit being another. Some media types have suggested that Evridge was done some wrong in not getting equal reps of late. That is beyond nonsense. This staff has had ample opportunity to evaulate and they made their choices, can that really be too hard to understand? This team has a football game to play in a few weeks and I applaud the fact that the staff had weeded down their decision to two. How long would some have like them to have divided reps? Freeman and Meier, Meier and Freeman were their choice, end of story. Let me try it a different way, AE wasn't good enough, maybe he will be good enough someplace else. The Evridge transfer rumors have been floating forever, they were even recently denied by family on this board. Where there is rumor there is usually at least a modicum of truth. Some here seem to think Prince's job is babysitter but his job is coach. His task is to make choices not to passify disgruntled players, silly media, or fans.
AE didn't like the Prince choice, everything else that has/will transpire falls more in the inevitable category.
3 would-be QBs at K-State took a look
around and saw a quality returning warrior back from injury and a Greek god true freshman blocking their paths.
The situation we have have never been in before is to have a roadblock with 4 years to play and a group of others good enough to play D1A QB someplace.
The issue is that the someplace is not at K-State, not at this time and place.

Unrelated, the PUP public list is a common practice up and down the East coast. Lou Holtz did the same thing every year at USC. Why some find this troublesome is beyond me. It's Ron Prince's team now and he has nobody to answer to other than to be true to himself. Media almost always has their own agenda, vested interests and or relationships that can sometimes cloud clear thought. Fans develop favorites on these trype of forums often due to direct access to a particular player or players family. Ron Prince is the coach at K-State now and it's his way.
Pat Fitzgerald the new 31 year old HC at Northwestern recently asked Joe Paterno for some advice and Paterno responded with "paint I'M THE BOSS on your mirror and look at it everyday to remind yourself." Ron Prince is the boss and I for one, am with the boss.
