Fact is that RIAA, the MPAA, and their ilk aren't going to stop until you pirates don't feel safe no matter what channels you employ to acquire your illicit goods. If I were the media industry I'd go directly after PG and the like as there's certainly cause. But I'd let the owners off and I'd let them keep every cent they've made in exchange for a quiet monitoring and cataloging of all persons using their services over some long period of time. Only once I had a mountain of evidence in hand would I file the first case since, as SD is demonstrating here, once the first case is filed the rats look for routes off the sinking ship and become far more difficult to apprehend.
You want safety? Get yourself a new clean PC and don't register ANYTHING. EVER. Use it ONLY for your pirating activities and for no other purpose. Be sure it's equipped with a high-power WiFi card that features an external antenna jack to which you can connect a high-gain directional antenna. Simply rotate the antenna until you locate an unsecured wireless network in your neighborhood and connect ONLY to that for your download activities. NEVER use an email address that you use for any purpose other than your pirating activities and NEVER access this email address via any means other than your neighbors' unsecured wireless networks. Obtain clean new IDs on your pirate services using only the new system and only your new email address(es). If you pay for anything never usea credit card and never use your real name / address / other contact info in conjunction with a MO.
That said you'll probably do something stupid and get caught anyway. Welcome to the Big Sky Theory of Interenet piracy.
