I think 6'5 is to tall for center in the WCO.  From what I can gather line coaches don't like tall centers, especially in the WCO because the taller you are, the longer your arms are, and the longer your arms are the longer it takes the bell to get to the qb.  not to mention, if the qb is only dropping 3 steps he will have a rather large obstacle obstructing his view.

he clearly wasn't happy with the new regime and is going to another well respected program and he will be taught by a good coach there.  Good luck to him, hope it works out.  I won't  judge his atttiude though because I don't know what was said to him by Prince or how he was being treated.  2 sides to every story.

chalk it up to whatever you want.  fact is though, the center position has the shortest average height of any lineman position.  Wonder why that is?

That has nothing to do with the fact that the NY Jets has a 6-5 center.   The KC Chiefs have a 6-5 center.   There are several 6-3 to 6-5 centers in the NFL.   Sure, they seem to be smaller, but they are also, getting bigger.  That's not working well with your WCO theory of the right fit for a center.  A center doesn't stand all the way up anyway, because he'd get his ass knocked over.

So that's why a JUCO head coach told me (I'm 6'1") back in the day that I shouldn't play center because 4-year schools don't want "short" centers -- any QBs taller than I would have had to crouch too deep to take a snap which results in a slower drop back...

But, I have long arms for my height -- that's probably the real reason why I shouldn't have played center, but the coach didn't have the heart to break the news to me...
