I've started to believe the Big 12 may be a pretty crappy conference fwiw.

Good Teams:  ku
Kind of Good Teams:  KSU, TX, Baylor
Medium Crapty Teams:  Mizzou? OU? TTech?
Crapty Teams:  Everyone Else

aTm should definately be in the 3rd tier if Turgeon gets out of the way.  They have too much talent to do otherwise, but are looking more and more like OSU did last year.  Some teams are beating each other up a bit and there are still 7 teams inside the RPI top 60, so really any of those 7 should still have a realistic chance if they can win some games.  There are still too many games to be played to call it yet.

I honestly don't understand how teams beating up on each other in conference games makes people think this.  Faulty logic imo.

I (< clearly hbbiq) think it may have something to do with watching ku play followed by watching any other Big 12 team play.  It is apples to oranges to steve dave JUST IMO.

Either way, the Big 12 picked a good year to have a decent non-con rpi.  I agree that the teams aren't that great, but I think we'll get more in and just all get exposed in the Tourney.

As a ku fan this pains me to say, but ksu is playing very well right now. Last night was a big win, past kstate teams would go and drop a game like that but not this one, and with their youth, that is saying something. Beasley and Walker are amazing and I think they are really learning how to feed off of each other and the other players are settling into their roles. Do I think kstate is better than ku? no way in heck, but I do think they are one of the top teams in the big 12. For the first time in 20 years if kstate beats ku I won't be embarrassed. I will be extremely pissed and might possibly break something, but I won't be embarrassed.  Good luck with the rest of the season, but I hope we kill you next week!

Yeah, prbly.  If they lose this year it will be the result of horrendous coaching.

Have a slush puppie, and let it slide bro.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Seriously.  You don't judge the quality of a conference by how they perform against each other.  You judge it by how they perform against outside competition.  If the conference is as strong top to bottom as you hope, then conference games SHOULD be hard to predict, and there SHOULD be a lot of teams that stay close to .500 in conference play for a while.

The big 12 isn't very good this year but I think college basketball as a whole is down this year.  Not many good teams out there.  Look at ku they are probably the best team in the country yet I'm not sure they are as good as they were last year when they were probably about the 5th best team or so.

What other conference has more than one "elite" team and then a bunch of average teams?

Big 12 - ku
SEC - Tenn
Pac 10 - UCLA
Big East - Pitt, GT
ACC - UNC, Duke
Big 10 - ?

By bids, for each league:
Big East:  8-9
ACC:  4-5
Big 12: 4-5
Pac 10: 4-5
Big 10: 3-4
SEC:  3-4

Pitt is bad w/ the injuries, Wash St. is pretty close to elite.

SEC is HORRIBLE they shouldn't get more than 2 what I worry about is the A-10 getting like 5 teams.

I think we are good enough, BUt I think the north is slightly better than the south, mostly because of us and ku, but baylor will win a bunch of games in the south and be the confrence darlings.

The SEC will probably get 3 teams (Tenn, Ole Miss, and FU), but because it's worse than the Big 12 I see some stupid team popping up in their tournament and winning it or making a run to get on the bubble ala Ark last year.  The A-10 will get 3, I just hope that some scrub team doesn't come up and win their tournament and push it to 4. But I'd say that about any of the scrub leagues.

big 12 will get 5-6, imo.

ku and ksu from the north.  i'm not sure if any other north team has a shot.  perhaps nu if they turn things around quickly (doesn't appear likely).

ut & bu from the south.  and 1 or 2 more depending on how things sort out.  the only south team with little to no chance is osu.

They'll take KSU over BU simply because of Beaz. They won't keep the #1 pick out of the tourney and take a newbie on the bubble. Unlike years past, we have a little marketabillity because of one player.

KSU will beat Baylor by 22 in the Big 12 Tourny, finish ahead of them in the Conf. but they'll still choose Baylor over us.  I just have this feeling?  :banghead:
Here's hoping that Clams is chillin' with someone cool up in that big EMAW in the sky. RIP Clams, RIP.
