I heard a bit of the Ron Prince show tonight on the radio and caught Prince say that Joe Ganz was the closest thing he's seen and reminded him a lot of a kid they had trouble with @ Virginia....a 1st round Draft pick and starting NFL QB named Philip Rivers. Tell me he's not serious -  :bs:

our defense didn't play good - that's obvious. but a kid that was just named starter and has 1 big game, now all of a sudden looks like a starting nfl quarterback on a 1st place team (granted it is the afc west)

Maybe he meant when he was actually playing in college. Nah, that would make too much sense. And you do realize the kid has played in 2 games and has over 900 yards passing and 11 TD passes, right?

I'm pretty sure Rivers was a four year starter at NC State. He must have meant somebody else.

Bill Callahan is an idiot so this means he's just been sitting on talent.

Sam Keller has cost two coaches their jobs!
football?

Bill Callahan said that Ganz's success was just part of his system.  He then took credit for all the offense success over the last two games.  He also said that their struggles all season was just the weirdness in college football these days.  The guy just doesn't get it.  Ganz is good.  Keller was meh.  Callahan can't accept that he made the wrong QB the starter.

I heard it too he didn't really compare Ganz to Rivers he said the last time he saw a QB perform like that was Rivers.  As bad as our defense was Ganz did make every throw on Saturday.  We had pretty tight coverage on some of those routes down the middle and he put it right on the money every single time.  Obviously a lack of pressure  had something to do with that but still an impressive peformance.

The guy is delusional. He keeps saying that the numbers don't lie and the system is working. It's a joke. What about the defense?!?! He insisted on hiring a long time friend that has tarnished the blackshirt defense tradition. He sacrificed that for a "long time friend".
As far as Keller and Ganz went. I think he went with Keller because he promised Keller playing time if he went to NU. Now it's tough to say what would have happened if Ganz would have started. But I think something fishy went on with the whole Ganz v. Keller decision in the spring.

I think everyone knows that the media has turned on Callahan. Many of them from day one. This is some more of what Callahan said the the Journal Star chose not to quote.

"I'm proud of him. I'm really proud of him. He threw for over 500 yards and seven touchdowns. I think that's really good. He made plays outside the pocket as well. I'm just really proud of him. He deserves it. He deserves all the accolades you want to heap on him. He's really done well. He's persevered through four years, and he's gotten an opportunity in starting last week and now starting this week. I think he's been outstanding. I'm really happy for him."

--Bill Callahan on Joey Ganz.

Could you imagine being backed into a corner like Callahan has by the media and now most of the fans and having everything you say  picked apart and played in the media like he has. I can't string 6 words together at work without droping an F-bomb. I'm afraid I wouldn't live up to your standards either.

What was the full quote when he said NU needed to watch out for Limas Sweed in the TX game?  How about when he said he has done an excellent job in every aspect of coaching?

I get that you don't like Callahan. That is fine he has owned the Cats 3 out of 4 times he has coached against them. I wouldn't like him either if I were a K-State fan and I would want him gone too.

I just don't understand the relentless attacks by the local media and the constant slants they put on everything the man does. These same people could not coach a team to save their lives and most are much worse at their jobs the Callahan is. I would love to see the tables turn and see them put under the microscope 24-7.

No I get it, you like Callahan and want him to be the Corn coach.  Trust me, that is fine by everyone else in the Big 12.
