and make a deal to let KSU lose, as long as MU doesn't win by more than.....umm..how about 17?

No blitzing either.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I couldn't agree more.

Also, can we agree to let them let Lamark catch one ball....you know, just to get to some photographs and a little video for his folks.

Fresno will beat us.  I would say by more than a TD.

How did McAnderson not have 300 against us?

We were still playing with confidence then/we were still almost completely healthy/we were still relatively competent and hadn't been completely exposed yet.

I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Fats, did you vote in the poll I made last week? I would totally agree to have K-State lose if Mizzou were guaranteed to beat ku.

If God calls me, I'm makin' that deal.

You want... yes... WANT to lose to missouri.

That would never be the case with a fan that has any sort of self-respect and dignity.

I have spoken.

Brick, your posts really suck for having so many months off to hone your skills before coming back here.

If K-State losing to MU kept ku out of San Antonio, then hell yes I would make that deal if God gave me the power.

Thats my whole point. You'd sacrifice the lamb that is Ksu so that the god beast that is ku will be somewhat weakened.

Congratulations, you're now lamb chops and ku is still one of the top teams in the nation.

Think about it.

"Somewhat weakened"? Do you realize how big a dropoff that would be for your season to not get to SA?

No, you probably don't.

No, you probably don't.

Are you serious? A big dropoff?

One single loss to a top 5 team would be a 'big dropoff'? ku wouldn't win the north but then they'd still end the season highly ranked with non-heavy losses next year and a national buzz that will boost Mangino's recruiting.

I know you hate ku with a passion but come on. Lets not use some sort of AFCat logic here.

a ku loss to MU would be devastating to ku. All that great year, and no north title? Wow. That' 98 esque.

It's arguable that '97 and '00 were our bests as we lost only to the national champs.  Just sayin'.

I'm not convinced that it will do that much for your recruiting just yet. Not on the level you think it will, anyway. Yeah, it will help you pull in some guys that already had you pretty well in the mix, but you won't be getting any huge recruits just yet. Regardless of the season, you still have to recruit to Kansas.

KSU won the north title in 1998.  It would actually be more comparable to the 1997 or 1999 seasons when KSU was 11-1 those years without winning the north.  Also, if ku does not win the north, I don't think they can count on a BCS at-large bid due to a bad nonconference schedule and not beating any ranked teams save for #25 KSU.  So they might be looking at a Holiday Bowl ala KSU 1999.

You'd have to win the Big 12 Championship twice to surpass KSU.

FYI.

You wouldn't have any "national buzz." In the eyes of the country, you'd have lost to the only good team you played. With a schedule as weak as ku's, a single loss would prove all the critics right.

HTH.

Umm...no.  Not at all.  Ridiculous statement.  People don't think of this year's ku team in the same way they've thought of undefeated Boise State teams of the past.  They just don't.

Maybe a better scenerio is KSU somehow beating MU, then MU beating ku and then OU beating ku and then XXX beating ku.  A three loss skid would be nice.  Although having a Big 12 North Trophy in the ku trophy case would not be nice.
