First and foremost, I have been to NU before.  In previous games their fans have been great to me/my party, and we have been pretty obnoxious at times.  Yesterday their fans were worse than any other big 12 stadium I have ever been to, proving the whole "best fans in the nation" thing wrong.  They were ridiculous.

Second, I can't believe how far this team has fallen 2 years in a row at the end of the season.  Not to be powertardish, but problems like this don't just go away with talent.  The team quit, and that is coaching.  When NU gave up 70 to Tech, NU fans called for Cally's head.  People said wait til he has talent.  He has a great season last year, and then again he gives up 70+ to ku this year.  Now he is losing his job.
At least the 2 teams NU gave up 70+ to were GOOD teams.  We allowed 73 to a team that had hit rock bottom and lost 5 straight because we gave up.  It's coaching, and it's why we're going to go through 1 more season where we collapse in the last 5 games, then Ron Prince is let go.

Third, I could look past all the bull crap that comes out of Ron Prince's mouth, and the fake traditions he is trying to add as long as he wins.  But when you give up 73 to a crumbling NU team, you suck at coaching, and no stupid "power of one" gimmicks or sayings can cover that up.

I don't know....I suspect that Ron listens to many more management book summaries on audio than you do, so I am inclined to trust the wise words of various managment gurus (albiet via Ron's sound bytes).

It really isn't that crazy of an idea.  Obviously Bill has had enough time to understand that his recruiting was crap and that his recruting methods blow.  Give Bill a young AC and modern recruting methods and we'd be better right away.

LOL.

It would take Bill Snyder at least 5 seasons to make this team good.  By then he'd be 98 or something.

Ya, you're right.  Snyder sucks.  Ron can do it more quickly.

i don't know who you were meeting but everyone I met was simpathetic.  they are just pissed they know they would be bowl eligible and then some if Ganz started the entire season.  like one guy said "yeah, we won, that's fine and dandy, but we're still 5-6!!!!"

some of them brought up a good point that if nu beats CU they'll be bowling.  so i'm gonna be a huge cu fan over thanksgiving and pray to god we can beat fresno state.  that'd leave nu at 5-7 and us and cu at 6-6 and we have the tie breaker.  a bowl game is still a bowl game albeit we'll most likely be under .500 at season's end if we make one, but it's still good for the program no matter what.  i'll be in manhattan next weekend praying we keep it close and hope we can sneak out a win in fresno.

tardish?  yes.  loyal?  you bet your ass.   :ksu:

The reason I'm so upset is that we gave up, and that our D was so simple, that we would say what play we thought NU was gonna run in the stands, and then Cally would run it and it would work.

If they were good enough to score 73 and beat us by 42 without us giving up, I wouldn't be this mad.  But anybody who watched the game and saw how poorly we tackled, etc. knows we gave up.

i was just pissed that i bought a ticket.  our tailgate spot was about 10 feet from the east entrance and we could see the jumbotron from there.  but i did accomplish getting shiwasted 3 times yesterday so that helped a little.  i think our team gave up about the same time i left the stadium with about 5 minutes left before halftime.

oh, who in their right mind goes for it on 4th down before halftime?  i have a slogan for next year that might be fitting.  RonCo - "set it and forget it"

   Another fantastic T-shirt idea.

That one is running a pretty close second to Newbie's from yesterday....

Nah, we don't recruit big linemen, its Prince's new paradigm.  He's changing college football one team at a time.

Waaaaaa! Give it a rest. At our tailgate spot we had a little over 8-9 KSU fans with 12-13 NU fans. We all had a great time, except for the final result obviously. The whole day I never saw one KSU fan catch any crap. Even later on that night at the bars. Hell, I was in the student section and had 3 KSU fans there and they never had ANYTHING said to them except " sorry about Callahan still throwing the ball in the 4th, he's trying to keep his job". And the KSU guys laughed and said they if KSU can't stop it, keep on dong it. I did run into some drunk KSU fans on the way into the stadium though. They were hecking and wondering how many points KSU would put up.  :cheesy:

I wan't to go on record as saying that we are not, never have been, never will be,the best fans in the nation. You all know it and we all know it. We are fans, no more, no less, we are no different then any other fan base. We do tend to treat people pretty well until they piss us off. Pretty much like every other fan base out there.
On a personal note I think we should treat fans much worse so they quit coming back.

    The very best.
Their fans were pretty cool actually.

I was just shocked at how much a dump the area around memorial stad is.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I had a similar experience. I was in the student section, about halfway up in section 13 (south east corner). The Nubbs I was with were actually booing Cally for his over-aggressive play calling late in the game (esecially when they went for it on 4th and 20). They made it pretty fun and in such a terrible game. I had Nubbs actually buy me shots for being a pretty good sport.

And yes... the area around their stadium is the dumps....

We should have kept Bielma... Period.

We didn't have a choice... period.  Bielma wanted out of here just like every other good assistant wants out of here.  You can blame whomever you want for that.

Saying, "we should have kept Bielma" is the same as saying, "we should have kept Bob Stoops".  It was never going to happen.

I wasn't exactly referring to the fans being mean to us, more to the fact that they were super obnoxious/retarded (low fbiq)/degrading to their own team.  They announced Franz Hardy as a senior and the guys behind us yelled "GOOD RIDDANCE FRANZ NO HANDS!"  He later caught 3 td's and they were talking about how he was a God.

Also thought it was funny when they announced some white kid from a rural nebraska town and the guys behind us yell "That's a good Nebraska boy.  He should have played more."  Then the next guy was Courtney Grixby from Omaha and they yell "Just keep on running through that field and right back off of it Courtney!"  Like he wasn't a Nebraska boy.  He later ran back a kick off for a td and then he was a God.

So mostly I just thought the NU fans in our section were annoying, retarded, degrading racists with low fbiq's.
