3-Beat Texas

4-Beat Texas

Due to those first two objects, the pro Prince crowd is of the belief that Ron can recruit very well.  The anti-Prince crowd realizes that football teams have 11 players on the field at one time so it takes a bunch of guys being good to end up winning games.  Also, winning a recruiting battle for a high ranked kid by telling him he can play a position he wants to even though he sucks at it doesn't mean much.  Lamark is a 5 star athlete but he is a 1 or 2 star WR.

Due to the last two objects, the pro Prince crowd is of the belief that Ron can coach a team to victory and championships since Texas is considered a big win.  The anti-Prince crowd points to 2 straight losses to ku, losing to ISU this year, getting embarrassed by a bad Nebraska team, and the list keeps going that Prince can't continously keep coaching his team at an elite level.

Am I missing something other than these 4 events, which really are the only noteworthy events to happen under Ron's watch at KSU?

    THE b IS NOT CAPITALIZED
He declared his intentions of being a history teacher after twenty years.

He did the little stomp dance thing on the sideline. Add that to the four.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

I think we should remember he inherited a team full of mediocre talent. He's going to have to prove he can evaluate talent and recruit well in a hurry or his tenure here will hit a hard brick wall. I can honestly see him walk away from this program so not to tarnish his resume.

Mangino was this bad (worse his first two years.)  People wanted him fired too.  Now they wish there was enough bronze on Earth to make a statue of him.  Everyone who want Prince gone probably hasn't followed the team and probably knows nothing about football.  And if we should get rid of him... replace him with who?  Yeah... that's what I thought.

I am not saying those years were something we should cherish.  We have improved from crap to poop.  That doesn't really get me excited.

Hmmm...seems a very "Give Wooly one more year" type argument

47 year plan.  When did we get on the Carl Peterson/Lamar Hunt gameplan?

Snyder didn't leave Ron with a ton to work with but the KSU program had FAR more to offer a first time new head coach than ku did.  Jeez, ku is just now building a structure to house its football operations.  ku fans have not been terribly supportive of their program.  The talent on the ku roster was worse than what Prince had.

Comparing where Mangino started and Prince started are stupid.

I agree.  The problem is Prince has signed around 20 JuCo players since he showed up and none are really making much of a big time impact.  I wish Prince would have scrapped the whole deal and signed more high school kids and let them take their lumps last year and this year rather than trying to win with a bunch of juco kids that haven't done much.

    Fear the Brick
GPC has already given up on Ron, so it's inevitable now.  He'll be gone w/in 2 years.  Once those people lose support, a coach is pretty much f'd (save for the university president stepping in).

Exactly.  Where are the defensive players?   How come Mangino can find juco guys and we can't

Something is going on with talent evaluation that is troubling.

Snyder left Prince with a bottom of the Big12 team.  You're stupid if you've forgotten already.

KSU's talent was no worse than Baylor's or ISU's talent.  Both teams have beaten Prince so far.

This is a joke, right?  The players Snyder left Ron, are the ONLY reason we went to a bowl game last year.......which is the ONLY think the pro-Ron crowd has to hang their black cowboy hat on.

Ron sucks the ginch of Bill Snyder on hot day in 2005.

The only reason we went to a bowl was because of a renewed emphasis on special teams, IMO.

And Freeman.

If (which will not happen no matter how bad we suck) Prince got fired after 2007, the new coach would have a lot less talent to work with than Prince inherited.
FYI: Bashing Bill Snyder is realyl a great way to unify the fans.

All the best players (Freeman and Johnson are exceptions) of the past two teams are Snyder guys, enough said. Also, maybe you guys in the bash Snyder crowd can get his name removed from the stadium since he did such a crappy job at K-State.

stop the fired talk, he will get 4 years and deserves to.

Prince signed a bunch of jucos because he had a month and a half to put together a recruiting class.  He put together 2 recruiting classes in a little over a year.  He deserves a pass on the first 2 recruting classes.  This year and next will tell the tale.

Three more:

5) Read 101 books (one book per week)
6) Taught women about football
7) Taught a course on Leadership
