I'm curious, what do the ku fans think the rest of their year will look like?  Seem pretty confident after CMU.

And a follow up, do you think ku beat Michigan?

Since no ku fans took a shot, let a ku alum take stab...

Your observation that ku beat a MICHIGAN U is well noted & we beat a conference champ from last year.  It is fair to assume we'll be a stellar 4-0 going into the Kst8 game, while KSt8 will be 3-1 at best and likely a mediocre 2-2.  That said, stats (and gravity) are against us Manginoes and we'll struggle in B12 play.  That said, I'll bet my house we do not lose to UT or OU this year as Kst8 will at least lose to one of them.  Maybe even lose to one of them twice.

BTW, Hatter, what are the stats for the QB's in conference play for home games?   Since the lame excuse for JFree is that he didn't get to start/play much against the puffs last year, it would be nice to compare his home numbers (minus the fluke UT game, of course) with KM's home stats in conf play.

A good quote from a Nebraska fan:

Quote
Coach Mangino is only dressing 10 players for the Jayhawks game against SE Louisiana. The rest of the team will get dressed by themselves.

so does that mean we can take freeman's numbers from the ku game out as well?  I mean flukes go both ways like a ku frat boy.

Not many ku fans are expecting greatness this year. It's a vintage Bill Snyder schedule, but without any B12 powers. Could go anywhere from 7-9 wins. Most realize even 9 wins with this schedule wouldn't be that special. Just some progress.

I never put too much into the first game of the season, no matter who we're playing. I will say the new offense is fun to watch. Big improvement over Nicky Q.

Please.
Your town would shut down and throw a parade with 9 wins and rub it in MU and KSU's face for eternity.

Dont' give me this smug bullcrap about how 9 wins isn't any big deal.

It'd be ku's highest single season total since 1995. They would probably be ranked.....

.It would also mean ku probably won 5 conference games...two above the underachiever coach in L-town.

I wasn't impressed after 9 wins. I'm officially impressed now.

    THE b IS NOT CAPITALIZED
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

well, at this point I think ku's strength is not giving teams a mistake.  If you play most teams about even most the game but with less turnovers or penalties, you end up with a huge edge.  Not to take anything away from ku but they are not outstanding.  They are a team where everyone does their job consistently and rarely makes a mistake which is huge this season.  More than anything, this speaks for coaching.  There are very few BCS teams that I think have less talent.

We had a QB with 300 yards passing and 3 tds.  We had a receiver with 199 yards receiving and 3 tds.  We had a running back with 142 yards and 2 tds.  McClinton owns the line.  Talib was superb last night.  I just don't understand this belief that ku does not have talent.

You realize that we did the same thing to OSU, right? Freeman passed for 400+ yards on them. The difference is that your defense stopped them when they needed to, ours didn't.

There are a lot of differences between Kansas and K-State this year.  Kansas is just better in all phases of the game.

Line play is the biggest difference.
