Why is everyone dogging the defense?  The offense gave up one TD, and setup another short field on another.  Also, the offense missed a field goal, and made two more that should have been punched in the endzone with any sort of decent play calling.  So as near as I can tell the offense is clearly the offender.

Looking back at the OSU game it was six fumbles that lost the game, not the defense.

So in my uneducated opinion KSU is a TE (instead of the two FP's who who can't catch and won't go over the middle with any sort of authority) and a 2nd WR (who doesn't lateral the ball late in the game to the wrong team) from wins at OSU and ISU, it has little to do with the defense.

I mean they're not world beaters, but they've played well enough to win.  Please enlighten me as to why the defense is catching all of the heat.

Uh...let's see....because they made ISU and OSU look like the Colts and the Patriots. Come on, are we watching the same team? Little pressure on the QB, no sacks anymore, what happened to Ian Campbell & Marcus Watts? Everybody can throw the ball on us and we're not big enough to stop the run.

Don't tell me that our defense played good enough to win.

If our offense could score, then perhaps our defense played good enough to beat a 1-8 ISU by one point. That doesn't get the job done.

6 fumbles against OSU and 3 TO's against ISU?  And yes, a one point win does get the job done, obviously.

Because the D was the one that got owned in the first half, and put ksu in a hole, making the offense more predictable and easier to defend. Its simple, you get a nice lead, you dictate what kind of offense the opposing team runs. Thats what ksu did to cu and the likes.
They did make adjustments in the 2nd half, but pass to Blythe for 54 yds on FP Watts (longest play of the entire frackin yr for them) finished the game off.
Offense did suck too though.

A win is a win and of course is always better than losing. However, a one point win over a 1-8 team shows mediocrity.

When did we start to settle for being average? I mean really....another .500 year in 2007.

Too many of you guys want to remember the 80's instead of all our 11 win seasons!

It's not all the D's fault but they have to share part of the blame.  They were poor in the first half giving up 21 points and two long drives.  VS. OSU they couldn't get a stop at the end we needed to win the game after the offense gave us the lead.

They did play better in the second half today and I tend to agree it was more the offesne and turnovers that cost us the game today but the defense had it share of breakdowns too.  Tackling was poor and gave up some big plays to a team that just hasn't made any this year.

I'm not settling for average, I'm saying these losses are not all solely due to defense, the offense has had many mistakes that have thoroughly screwed us over.
