    PRIMETIME LEAGUE ALL-STAR
Well I've finally been to a K-State - ku game at Allen.  Now thankfully, I never have to do that again.  I have to give it to the birds that place was filled to the brim.

My experiences with the crowd:

A guy in front of me yelled out "Just like Football".  So I yell out "Just like last yea...oh wait, maybe not like last year."
His reply, "Yeah one win in 15 years".  My response, "Football you've won 2 in 15 years."
Then he pulled the, "Yeah, well if you look at the all time records."  Me "Yawn".

5 minutes to play the same guy looks like they are down 25 points.  Those idiots are just never happy.

I was sitting next to an Iowa fan.  The first time Huggs got into it with the officials the ku crowd just went nuts.  I turned to the guy next to me and said, "You hear that?  Thats the sound of fear."

On to Druber's game observations:

Darrel Arthur was sick.  Without JB or Luis on the floor he just had his way in the low block.

When Rush decides he wants to play he is downright scary.

Their guards were the difference.  They were able to beat their man off the dribble and draw the interior defenders to the ball, leaving the post guys wide open for bunnies.  I was most impressed with their guards.

Live by the 3, die by the 3.   We CLANKED some wide open looks in the first half.  We made those shots vs the 'Horns and stayed in the game.  We missed them vs the 'hawks and it slipped away.

Maybank was great.  He transported himself back to the Bronx and went street.  The only enjoyable part of 'Cats game.

Remember this: The most important game is the next one.  Were 6-3 and in 3rd place.  NO HANGOVERS.  We get thursday off in the big 12, we go dancin.

ku Still Sucks.

I did not need to see that picture.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Can we safely assume that the 'Drub is still the best player that Donnie Wallace has played against?*

Huh?

In a media guide they had those little "get to know the players!" profile boxes with questions like nicknames etc.  One of the questions was "Best player you've ever played against."  Donnie Wallace answered "Aaron Swartzendruber."  It really summed up that era for me.

Didn't Preston Shumpert visit KSU?

Wow, we got the crap end of that deal.

Donnie and I went to the same high school.  When I was a senior I think he was a 7th grader.  People were talking about him like he was the second coming.  It was a case where he grew up being coddled like none other.  Seriously why would a guy who was that tall just sit outside and shoot vs 5A schools?   Because he was squeezably charmin soft thats why.

Still, I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for DW.  He single handedly kept us in a game vs ku one year.  It was like the only game he did anything good.  He had a couple of defensive stops and got to the line a couple of times.

That and I'm his hero, which is nice.

I had a pretty good time last night.  I went with four other folks though. Got the usual cross eyed glances. Only problem I had was a guy who walked up about 10 minutes before tip and wanted to take my aisle seat.  I offered to let him squeeze into the row, but he really wanted to sit on the aisle.

Wish I'd have been able to see the confrontation in the tunnel after the game.
