Ya, and I should have also noted that this was conveyed as a way of saying that since Samuels is paying his own way as a walk on, there must not be a scholly available (i.e. Sutton is still using his scholly?) 

Who knows at this point, but I thought the Samuels part was good news.  However, by comparison, it means little or nothing to me if something has gone wrong with Sutton.
