"Jerrell Powe was denied in his quest to play at Mississippi for the third time Thursday when the NCAA rejected the appeals of the defensive lineman and the school.

The learning-disabled prized recruit has spent more than two years seeking permission from the NCAA to start his college career. Officials have ruled Powe, 20, will not be able to play football until 2008, and only then if he completes a year of college at Ole Miss.

"Based on his academic history and even after receiving all the accommodations and protections available to individuals with disabilities, Mr. Powe has not demonstrated that he can succeed academically during his first year of collegiate enrollment while also practicing and competing in athletics," an NCAA statement said.

The NCAA granted Powe a partial initial eligibility waiver last week and ruled that Powe could attend Ole Miss and receive athletic financial aid, but not play football. He is currently enrolled.

NCAA officials also invalidated all of Powe's coursework over the previous year because they were concerned that Powe received too much help as he attempted to qualify."

....sounds like a recruit destined for KSu.  He could join the other dumb sh*ts that can't  talk and chew gum that play in manhattan

Honestly though, how dumb is this guy?  If the NCAA let Bennett in, then this guy must seriously be going around running into walls.

Go ask Kenny Wilson to read for you retard.  Bet you'll be shocked at his inability to do so...since all your players are believed to be of genius status.

By the way Lynchmob, he better not make fun of kids with learning disabilities, because that's one of Nubb's deep dark secrets these days.  Get kids who are just stupid or have been academically lazy to be declared learning disabled on the SAT/ACT.  They've had a number of kids with no chance of qualifying somehow make it during the Schnellahan era.  See Brandon Jackson's jump of well over 10 points for proof.

Funny how they used to give us crap about Juco kids, but now they are just peachy.  What a bunch of double standard retards.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.
