What a great effort from our Cats. The game went exactly the way I expected it to and with Auburn's obvious lack of desire to put us away I really believed we were going to win that game even late into the 4th Quarter.

Obviously we need to find our running game at some point soon. I was extremely proud of the way Josh Freeman played. His two interceptions were irrelevant. One was on a Hail Mary at the end of the 1st Half and the other was when he was trying to rally the team. We have to find a way to cut down on the penalties. We'll have to wait and see how much of that was the atmosphere of playing in front of 86,439 people.

I thought the defense did an amazing job of running to the football. We had more yards then Auburn, held them to 20% on 3rd down and turned them over twice. What can I say about Marcus Watts? The guy is just all over the place. He is the true definition of what a defensive football player should be.

Leon Patton proved himself to be a capable kickoff returner and you know those are going to be a huge factor this season with the new rules. Deon Murphy is going to be an exciting punt returner. I have no doubt in my mind that he will break one very soon.

In summation.....It's disappointing that we didn't win but I think it was about as perfect a loss as you can have. Here's to a great season. Look out for the Cats in the Big XII North.
