As former defensive player, it pissed me off when we were given less respect than the opponents D. W showed up big time. My guess is that Ian, Rob, Smoke, Abana, Houlik and the boys will come out smoking. There is a lot of emotion in playing good defense. If you have a solid combination of athleticism, emotion and good coaching you can make life miserable for any offense. We have the athletes. We should have the emotion and I have said alll along Tibs is an upgrade as D-Coord.
Cox struggled and got hammered as a junior. He didn't exactly light up the skers in their bowl game, 10-21, 111 yards. (Our freshman did that against a better D.) With is new o -line against a scheme they have never seen us run, I like our chances. I think 17 is the ceiling for points. And there is nothing like a smothering D to take the life out of the home crowd, even 80,000, plus.
