Butler named al rookie of the month

Billy Butler slugged .527 and scored 13 runs. During a game against the Seattle Mariners on July 3rd, Butler went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, four runs scored and six RBI. On July 20th at Detroit, he went 4-for-5 with a run scored and 4 RBI. For the season Billy Butler is hitting .305 with four home runs and 30 RBI in 42 games. This is the first monthly honor of his career; he was also nominated for A.L. Player of the Month.
