I am attempting to make it back for a football game in October or November (prefferably October...although if they would ever release the basketball schedule there could be a good football/basketball weekend in November). In so doing I wanted to mix in a running event (5K or 10K). Initially I thought I would come back for homecoming versus Baylor...but the homecoming 5K is week earlier...and despite the fact I will be visiting family in the Wichita/Hutchinson/Great Bend Metroplex while back, I can't spend the whole week in Kansas. The gambling withdrawl would just be too much.
Are there any runners on the board who are familiar with the running events in Kansas during these months. I'm looking to hit a quality event either close to Wichita, Kansas City, Manhattan etc.. on the weekend of a home football game (October 6, October 13, October 27, November 17). To this point I've tried to do some research on the web through active.com, getsetks.com etc., but thought there might be options those sites did not list but someone on this board might know of.
