    The very best.
Rusty, it was in the mercury's interview with Weiser. He basically said he was considered, but wasn't a good fit at the time. (I guess Majerus would have taken the job in a heartbeat...hmmmmm)

Not getting Leavitt blows. I'm glad to see we tried, and tried hard. If it meant never getting Huggins, I'd be more than down for landing Leavitt.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

MM: The hiring of Frank Martin. Was it a no-brainer?

TW: I called Eddie Fogler again and we went through several scenarios. Frank was one of those we wanted to explore sooner than later. If we didn't feel good, then we'd go back to ground zero.  Any time you make a hire, it's a risk. Had we hired Rick Majerus, there would have been a risk element. He was a proven head coach, but you always have to consider the fit. I learned that long before coming to Kansas State.

(Laughing) This incident was this year's perfect storm. When you're in this position, you seem to have a perfect storm every year. It's why you're constantly looking west to cloud formations on the horizon, which could be the next perfect storm.

&@#%ing weiser and his &@#%ing fit bullcrap

Anyone consider that Jim Leavitt just might be looking for a job in a couple of years??  Why would I say that?  He's been at USF for 10 years, he needs to make a significant jump with that program in the next couple of years or my bet is they're going to start looking for someone to "take them to the next level".

I don't know why Leavitt would come back after Prince because if (a) Prince is fired, that probably means we're at about or near the same level as we were in Snyder's last couple of years, which is to say that we'd suck big time, so assuming that Leavitt would be an attractive hire, that would mean that he's having success...so why leave that for here; also, he wouldn't be going "home". (b) if Prince leaves, it's probably because he's had some very, very good success, so Jimmy would be following the second coming of Snyder so to speak, which seemed to scare him off the first time.

1)  His parents will have croaked.
2)  Don't understimate the "following a legend" syndrome.
3)  $$$$$$

4)  Prince would leave for an NFL coordinator gig after a series of 7-9 win seasons (in a heartbeat, IMO) <-not Snyder-esque
Also.. some poster on GPC said that he's faced several obstacles with the university as far as support and getting what he wanted out of facilities and what not. That could be a big reason for him to leave if it's true..

Yeah, USF is completely different from every other school in that regard.  Besides, it's pretty much a given that Leavitt will be able to dominate in a horrible conference like the Big East.
