    Fear the Brick
Best player: Jordy Nelson
Most overrated: Josh Freeman
Most underrated: Jordan Bedore

LOL Jordy being the best player.  Patton or Johnson.  And how is Bedore underrated?

Best player: Rob Jackson
Most overrated: Justin McKinney
Most underrated: Rob Jackson

Absolutely agree with the defensive rating.

i thought that was a pretty accurate report, minus the rating on freeman. i do think he is a little overrated, but that dude was young last year and put up some amazing stats. he will become what we all expect him to, but we do inflate his bubble a little bit, especially with how young he is. overall, i thought it was a decent assesment. i really like the comment about rob jackson being the best defensive player. he is straight up legit, however i think you could easily make a case for campbell, because, well, he's a monster.

other than our qb being equivalent to our O-line, i think they did a pretty alright job.

Most underrated should be Stringer IMO.  Bedore was a freshman All-America or something so it's not like he isn't known by some media.  I know some here rip on Stringer..lol, when healthy he may have been our best OL last year.  He looked lost early on but he started to get into a groove.  And he toughed it out last year on a bad wing.

Only thing I disagree w/ on the defense is that the most overrated should be Campbell.  I hate to say it but he's truly not an all-conference caliber talent but his motor is constant.  I guess he's overrated talent-wise but not effort...kind of tough to define that one.  McKinney should not be rated anything.  If Baldwin and Moore are not the starters...burn Burns.

Hatter, what's your starting OL for next year.  I can't put one together besides Bedore at center.  Didn't Stringer play guard against Rutgers?

LT - I predict LT will be a surprise...but prolly Sims or Alesana
LG - Alesana or Meyer
C - Bedore
RG - Robinson or Unruh or Liu
RT - Stringer

I REALLY like Viers.  The kid is athletic for an OL...if he can just add some bulk.  I don't know how big he can get but I know he's strong.  According to Gates he benched 360 and cleaned 300-plus at one of those prep weightlifting competitions.  There seems to be some talk that if Viers can accelerate the learning curve at center he might go there and Bedore to a guard spot.  I don't know if I would do that this year since Bedore has gained so much experience the past two seasons.  I think he's headed for a good season there.

Stringer did play some guard against Rutgers because Handy...well, he's not good.  I feel for the kid because he gives it everything he has...he just shouldn't be playing at this level.  Stringer tried but you could see he just couldn't do anything w/ his bad shoulder.  If he gets healthy he's going to be damn good.  And he got taught a few lessons last year...good learning experience getting body slammed and tossed by Carriker.

It's amazing how freaking terrible that '04 recruiting class turned out, especially the O-line:
Matt Boss
Justin D'Arcy
John Hafferty
Caleb Handy
Brad Rooker
Ryan Schmidt
Gerard Spexarth
Jordan Bedore

I'm hoping the '05 o-line class can amount to something, Frieson atleast was competent:

Mike Frieson
Derek Meyer
Nick Stringer
Brock unruh

I expect big things from Clyde Aufner in the very near future.   If he doesn't come up big, I'll be disappointed because watching his film he looked like he has all the tools to be an excellent D1 O-Lineman.

after that kind of bad luck you can just feel it...2011 first team All-American Colten Freeze.  LOL.

I wouldn't include Schmidt in that group....terrible for us but he's a good player and started from day one at South Florida.  I was in shambles watching him against West Virginia.  Bedore is fine.  Boss just didn't love football.  Hafferty is just in the wrong offense under Prince.  Spexarth still has a chance to be a contributor...his issue was strength more than anything...he's a good athlete.  Rooker is servicable for depth.  Not completely lost but you still got to remember the kids from that class playing last year were still Sophomores and learning a new offense.  Very few Soph. OL ever saw the field for Snyder or for the better OL in college football.

As or '05 class.  Stringer is good and will get better.  I hate it he's always under the knife in the off-season and it messes w/ his weight training.  Both Prince and Snyder seem to like Meyer so we'll see.  Unruh was fine last year when he played.  Actually had our best running games w/ him at RG.  But he lacks foot quickness...he is aggessive.

Pinchback, if he qualified, it won't be long before he's on the OL.  He weighed 283 during his official visit.  Most of the teams recruiting him wanted him as an OL and I imagine those who told him TE still wanted him as an OL.

Alesana will start. I'm hoping he is rebounding well from his finance's passing.

Was that the reason Coach  Snyder would say we made mistakes in recruiting because we took rivals and recruiting publication hyped players?
