    The very best.
Do they (usually ku fans, the only ones that care about basketball) realize Texas was a Durant injury away from a regular season big 12 title, and a Mario Chalmers brick away from the Big 12 tournament title as well?

Sure ku went 2-0 vs UT last year, but both games were total toss-ups and ku won't be as good in 07-08, jmo of course.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
It's either rip Durant and Texas or rip Carmelo and Syracuse.

Easy pick for our rivals.

I wish your arguments and speculations were as impressive as your hard drive.

ku was ahead when Durant left, and UT played better without him for a decent stretch. And, you could say we were a brick away from losing (insert any 2-3 point game in The Streak) to KSU, but we didn't. Those arguments are the weakest of all.

Anyway, UT was a good team last year, although I use the term "team" loosely. It was the Durant and Augustin show, with Augustin playing like crap down the stretch late in the season. Damion James or A.J. Abrams would occasionally step up in some games, but it wasn't consistent enough to make them a complete force. Basically, they could beat nearly anyone when they were hot (A&M, almost ku) and could lose to almost anyone when Durant was off and/or the rest of the team was stone cold (nearly lost to Baylor, lost to KSU :bootyshake: )

I don't have any idea if ku will beat UT in Austin next year, but it'll be tough even with Durant gone.

We plain and simple played a fantastic game at UT.  You can't discredit UT because we beat them at their homecourt.  Instead you might wanna take this time to give us some credit.

Okay, Texas was a homecourt away from blitzing ku, and led 78-74 with 40 seconds left before a miracle finish pushed the game to overtime at the big 12 ccg.

Seriously, Texas was pretty much just as good as ku last year.

Yeah, that was the best game you guys played all year. I couldn't believe how many damn threes you hit. I'm just messin'.

fatty--I'll admit that they were just as good, provided that they were firing on all cylinders. When they weren't, they were mediocre at best. If they'd had more of a dominant post presence, they could have gone a lot farther in the tourney and definitely would have beaten ku.

Who were they mediocre against?  USC?

That was more of an asspounding than anything.

Gonzaga:
Durant carries the team with 29, Justin Mason steps up with 17, Augustin and the rest of the team doesn't do anything worthwhile. UT loses.

Michigan State: UT scored 21 points in the second half. Lost 63-61 to a very mediocre team. Durant got his 20+, AJ Abrams stepped up, the rest of the team didn't do squat.

Villanova: Durant was off (only got 12), Augustin stepped up for 25 and Abrams got 19. If all 3 of these guys (or Mason) were firing on all cylinders, they would have won this one.

@Nebraska: Barely escaped despite being outscored in the second half. Durant got his, Abrams had a decent game with 14 but the rest of the team did absolutely nothing. Probably should have lost this game...and it's Nebraska.

@Baylor: Won 68-67 with Durant getting his, Connor Atchley stepping up with 15 and Augustin and Abrams having modest games with 11 and 12 points, respectively. The rest of the team didn't do anything worth mentioning, as Mason and James disappeared.

Baylor (B12 tourney): I watched this entire game. Their first half was one of their worst all season, and they went down 43-25. Durant was colder than a Kansas blizzard, and Augustin was crapping all over himself. Of course, they came back and won by 5 because it's well...Baylor.

Like I said, if they were "on" and had Durant, Augustin and another X factor or two (James, Mason, Abrams) firing on all cylinders they could beat anyone in the country. However, they were very young and it showed by their inconsistency all year, meaning they could lose to nearly anyone on any given night.

Looking at it from an objective, non-ku perspective, it's a damn shame that Durant left for the NBA. Texas would have been freaky-good this year, and they would have at least made the Final Four. They would have been fun as hell to watch.

    KSU Super Fan
Call me crazy but I think KSU has a chance to be better this year than Texas was last year. We have more experience, most likely four out of five of our starters will be upperclassmen (Hoskins, Walker, Stewart, and Young). Two of our starting five were top ten players. The only thing that will hurt us is if we don't find an outside threat and I don't know if we really have much of a problem with that as it is. But that's just my opinion..

If Rick Barnes was a better coach then Rival Texas would've won both.

OOC:  Doesn't matter
B12:  They won every game you mentioned
