As long as he beats KSU, MU, or NU approximately 1 out of 3 (anyone of those teams) years, he will be there a long time.
If he's not at least 5-3 in conference this year, he should be out.

Your post seems to indicate that as long as we beat one of those three every year, the fans will be happy. If you've read either Phog.net or Jayhawkslant, and I know you have, you'd know that more people are either borderline or currently unhappy with Mangino than are satisfied with how he's done.
We don't play Texas or OU this year. Or was that a facetious attempt to point out the irrational prejudices some have against Mangino on this board?

If he goes 3-5 or 4-4 and beats ksu in manhattan, he'll probably get an extension.
Mangino's record doesn't matter because we are progressing regardless of our record and there is always next year. Once we get Baylor, OSU and A&M off of the south schedule we will progress even more. The A&M game was ours to win last year until talent and coaching got in the way.
