I threw Tigner in there at strong safety because it would be nice if he proves to be a quick study so we can get the biggest and most athletic on the field.  Crews has some potential if only he can learn to use his hands and develop a motor.  But I do like this line up if Abana and Patterson live up to half of their hype.

Has anyone, ever, "developed a motor?" Isn't that the ONE thing that must be intrinsic?  Unless we can get him some blow.

Abana, the african warrior who hunts gazelles on foot and rips them limb from limb with his monolithic biceps.

Yep, intrinsic.  I was thinking more along the lines that his motor is off more from a lack of experience...sometimes kids just don't play w/ the aggressiveness and deliberateness when younger because they simply haven't seen that much.  But it's true..the motor is either there or it isn't.  He does look quite a bit better than when I watched him at practice last August.  He has potential.

Fingers crossed.   However, let's still get him some blow...just to make sure.

I prefer a good ol' fashioned alcohol problem; it's more mid western.  Alcohol* made dusty dvoracek a beast, why not Crews?

People can definately develop a motor.  Just being more comfortable, aware, and confident will increase a person's ability to move around more.  Few people develop the understanding needed to be really aware of their assignments and duties their first year in a program.  Also, moving up to D1 from highschool is such a huge adjustment for most people they tend to be in a bit over their heads for awhile.  Now, if the kid is flat out lazy, well not much you can do about it.  However, I am sure his laziness would be evident to the coaching staff and we would not even be having this conversation because he would never see the field.

saying that you can't develop a motor is like saying that someone can't become faster.  Now having a motor is not neccesarily having great speed but as mentioned before there is an aspect that is intrinsic.
