Look at you M&M...diving right in and starting a thread with your very first post.  Nice info..post that over on the Phog to give them some sense of how truly un-superior they are in history because most of them just don't have a clue of history before Roy Williams...other than the blurbs about Wilt, Naismith, and Phog Allen...most of them don't even know who Jo Jo White was.

Seriously, is that true?

Amazing, if.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

1993 marked the year that ku made its 22nd NCAA appearance and KSU made its 21st, so actually my statement was partially incorrect. I should have said 1991.  (ku had its 21st appearance in 1992).  But 1993 was ku's 16th appearance in the Sweet 16 and KSU's 16th appearance was in 1988!

LOL.  How many of those "Sweet Sixteen" appearances came in years where the NCAA field only included 16 - 25 teams?

KSUFan #1- Aww, we lost in the first round of the NCAA's.

KSUFan #2 - At least we made the Sweet Sixteen!

KSUFan #1 - YESSSS! Let's put up a sign on the highway!

Do you know what I LOL About Shocker?  1964 Wichita State made its first NCAA Tournament appearance.  They had everything set up nicely and they made it to their regional finals.  Wichita State was in the Midwest Region.  The midwest region finals were in Wichita, Kansas.  Guess who they lost to at home in the Elite Eight.  None other than the Kansas State University Wildcats.  HA! :ksu:

Hey Shock, I caught your new coach on the dudah news the other night, he was sitting at a fold-out table, nothing covering anything, just him and a mic.  Reporters were asking him about who he's looking at for assistants, did you see it?

I've never seen a coach give such a poor performance.  Did I mention never, seriously.  First he says that hiring assistants is horrible, he hates it.  Then he stumbles about, about nothing in particular for another minute before they finally had pity and shut the cameras down.  He looked lost, sounded lost, hell, was lost.  Apart from that he was great though.  Good luck with that one.   :users:

So Shocker...if there were only 16-32 teams in the tourney...that meant we had to make the tourney when there was only one berth from the conference.  Almost tougher than wading through the seventh place team in the ACC, then the fourth best team in the Big 10 to get to the sweet sixteen.  You had to be the best team in your conference or, enjoy the NIT.
