Am I wrong to think that it will not be too difficult to replace these two?  I think they were solid players, but that is not a position I see KSU digressing in this year with the departure of these two.

Honestly I'm gonna miss you Mark!!
Diles i agree but Arch is a guy you ca n always count on..maybe not a big play every time but a guy that can be there to help stop the big play every time...it wont take a whole lot to replace him but i am still kinda wondering who it is gonna be....

Roland and Patterson.

Diles was dissapointing this year.  Archer was very reliable but wouldn't have played on any of our great defenses.

Its hard to say in some ways b/c of the change in scheme.  I really like Walker and Roland inside and Campbell outside.  The other OLB is up in the air a bit, but Childs has looked okay.  I think the first 3 are probably the likely starters next fall though, unless Patterson lives up to the hype and isn't another Simmons.

archer reminded me of travis ochs after surgery #125.  a player you want on your team, but also one you better be able to replace.

kelly, simoneau, leber, pierce -- those guys are ones you don't expect to replace right away.

There's something to be said about consistancy.  Kyle Williams was another one of those guys last year.  Certainly wasn't a rock star, but was consistantly a solid performer.  Anytime you lose consistant veterans, you're losing a lot.  These guys will be missed atleast at one point during the year.

We wont miss K-DUB. We'll miss wattsy in two years...

3-4 means you dont need a true middle linebacker like you do in the 4-3, they can be undersized and fast. it's a lot easier to replace LB's in the 3-4 because there usually is so much rotating and depth needed.

Archer and Diles... they were good, but they weren't Simoneau and Kelly... or even Hickman and Buhl. We won't drop off at all in defense this year, especailly with IAN CAMPBELL -- heisman
