one final four?  thats not impressive enough to be #1 on our wish list, imo.  he was successful at stanford in a weak pac-10.  maybe its b/c i hate stanford/california in general.  but there has to be a better option.  besides hes really old.  do you think he can still recruit and compete?

one more than the dude down the road.

how old is the dude down the road and how long has he been coaching a team from a major conference?

I'm genuinely curious about who you'd like, swish.

Rusty you need to pitch your tent in the Anthony Grant camp-
A young up and comer who has top school experience coaching and recruiting, what more could we ask for?

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

right now i cant give an honest answer to that question.  i dont know who id like.  i would prefer one of the "ladder climber" types right now.  someone who would keep hill as an assistant coach so we could keep a decent class for next year and not totally blow balls.  i like the VCU coach.  i also like the idea of steve henson if he could keep hill as an assistant coach.  i havent looked into it fully enough yet but majerus and montgomery would be very low on my list if i really had one.

Sounds good.  I'm tired of dealing with sleazebag coaches.

Amen to that.

I think he's #6.  He could easily pass Mark Fox after I watch New Jack City.  Netflix is pretty sweet.

I do think we could ask for sustained head coaching success, though.

thats why i like the "idea" of steve henson.  if kstate could convince hill to stay under henson we could keep at least some of the class we currently have and possibly be successful in the future.

if we hire grant and he keeps hill we would be successful in the short term at the very least.

I still have a bad taste in my mouth about Mark Fox after having worked w/ him during his time in Manhattan and am shocked by his success at Nevada.  I'm convinced it's a fluke and something he would not  be able to repeat in a major conference.

*update*

I'm warming up to Frank when I look at our list of 2008 recruits.

Offer Lon the bank, then offer Frank.

    AAAAAHHHHH AAAAHHH
Interesting how Montgomery and Lon have become good coaches to hire compared to last year when they weren't good enough.
I'd take either of the above in a heartbeat.  Sean Miller anyone?

I think Montgomery was less realistic last year and Kruger was good enough last year.

My initial "please God just let these guys be candidates" list:

1)  Mike Montgomery
2)  Lon Kruger
3)  Rick Majerus
4)  Kevin Stallings
5)  Mark Fox

I would put Nolan Richardson as #1. There's little doubt in my mind that he could keep Hill and the #1 recruiting class. And there is NO doubt he would win as long as he were here...
